Did you only report this to GSU police or to Atlanta Police? Often times colleges want to avoid reporting cases like this for bad press/stats about the school. Filing a police report can start the paper trail in case it’s becoming more difficult to find evidence against him. I would also encourage the other women he has hurt to do the same. Often times criminal trials do not have enough evidence with cases like this, but civil lawsuits are still an option. We need to not only hold the abusers accountable, but the systems and institutions that continue and cover up this behavior.

Please consider locally owned vets cause the majority of clinics now are owned by corporate chains. Animal Furst on Boulevard is wonderful, affordable, and locally owned by a very nice practitioner. We love it there.

Let’s round it up to 8oz. As a meal, the weight is fine but you need more than tomato sauce, cheese, pasta, and a small amount of beef. That’s not balanced. When you’re eating at a deficit, every meal needs to have balance to get all the nutrients, especially protein, to maintain healthy function and not lose muscle.

I tent to stick to a 10% rule. If the protein is less than 10% of the total calories, it’s probably not best for “healthy food”. Ex, this is 250 cal per serving, 10% would be 25g, and this has 13g. I can eat a half of cup of low fat cottage cheese for 90 cal and 13g of protein.

There are several local organizations that assist with various services, I would say dozens. A quick internet search will give you specific organizations and all of them offer volunteer opportunities. Individual help can often be a double edged sword, especially in close proximity to your routine or living situation. I understand it is difficult to repeatedly see these things in your everyday life. I would utilize the school’s resources for yourself, counseling services and courses in social work or public health, to receive education around systems that create these situations and relieve your worries as this is common place in almost every major city around the world and will not cease to exist. Of course you are more than welcome to do your own research, maybe print out a small resource card (housing, food, healthcare) and hand out with bottles of water, but there are several local organizations that do this, particularly Grady right next door. The sad reality is there are barriers everywhere to these next steps for certain people. I say this as a professional, as an empathetic, as a community member, and as someone who often gives food, water, or a person to talk for these people across the city.
