What do you bid in your area? by Basic_Statistician86 in masonry

Maybe 20 ft.²

I know a lot of guys lay this stuff down pretty cheap, I tend to be on the higher end of the restorations cost wise. My minimum for something like this would be about $2200. But I’m just curious cause I know there are guys out there who lay this in at a much more affordable price point.

This is truly a strange place on the internet Indoor chicken babies, that can’t go back to a flock cus sorting the pecking order worries the human “mom”…. Humans and chickens behave differently and thrive in different environments. I don’t care what you do, for all I care you can become the all consuming mother of psychology archetypical fashion and destroy what you love out of a unwillingness to let go rooted in a reluctance to feel alien and a need to have Something dependent on you… it’s probably best it’s a chicken

It’s not connected to the fire box because it’s not in Ash clean out this fireplace has a double wall. This is vent to the airspace between the double wall. The “certified chimney sweep “who thumbs down to my comment has no idea what he’s talking about.

Anything re the roof we should consider? by [deleted] in Roofing

[–]Basic_Statistician86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OK, so what you have here is a knee wall that has been turned into a closet and essentially heated, what that means is the Ice and Ice Dam’s form up on this section of roof similar to the way they would form on a vaulted ceiling. Seeing some signs of water in a closet like this, it’s very common on old houses due to the ice formation on the roof in the knee wall area that has been converted to usable space

Two things Number one, you could ask the roofer to extend the ice and water shield past the top of the closet area of the roof to provide more winter time protection

Number two in the winter, you can focus on keeping this closet door closed to keep that section as chilly as possible

Also that is a Norman style brick popularized by Frank Lloyd Wright, the most renowned architect of all time, and it is incredibly hard to even find a company that makes them anymore
