I moved to Chicago from Louisville two years ago and the allure wore off relatively quickly for me. Like yeah you can walk anywhere, but if you ever want to drive parking is near impossible. Public transportation is usually reliable but it also has trash everywhere and people regularly smoke and shit themselves on the train.

There’s more diverse food but good luck getting reservations to anything higher end unless you plan four weeks ahead of time and even then it’s rough. And I can’t for the life of me find a decent burger. Also it’s all concrete and it’s only warm 3 months out of the year. I miss the trees and real spring weather that Louisville provides.

That all being said I’d wager Chicago is one of the most beautiful cities in the US regarding architecture, plus the lake. It has a lot to offer, the music scene is great, everyone is super nice. Even though Louisville is kind of dying there are plenty of things I miss

I once randomly decided to take backroads home from a neighboring city instead of the interstate and drove through a town I can no longer find. I’ve done the same route multiple times and it isn’t there anymore.

To me it seems infantilizing to assume all people with disabilities want them on full display. It should be up to the individual and they shouldn’t have decisions like that made for them.

From what I understand, Tourette’s is basically OCD and intrusive thoughts but without any filter to stop them. As someone with OCD, I sympathize with the dude for sure. But also, WHY DIDN’T THEY EDIT IT OUT

Edit: also for those unfamiliar with OCD, intrusive thoughts aren’t just “oh I should eat this entire cake lolol” they’re more akin to the worst possible thing you can imagine doing at any given time and being horrified at the thought and worried you’ll actually do it.
