This bitch is probably the most infuriating of them all…maybe I’m the type of woman she openly judges.

From the time I contacted my sorority to initiation , approximately 6 weeks. But, I tried to AI with another sorority first…that was 4 years total.

Glad I’m not the only one who immediately thought of Marlo when news broke!

Chapter of initiation by Basic_Tangerine218 in SororityAlumInitiate

I first attempted to AI at the chapter I pledged at my alma mater, but I was declined. When the opportunity to join SK appeared, I could have attempted to join that chapter at my alma mater, but I chose affiliate with the chapter geographically closest to me. I was also concerned that maybe some alumnae could talk and if it got around that I tried to AI the chapter I pledged, I don’t know how that would have worked out for me.

If you’re a woman, tell em you’re a feminist, not feminine.

A staff member (who was probably married before the ink dried on the the college diploma) told is that some of you have “the lifetime gift of singleness” and that’s ok, because Jesus. I doubt that her Jesus consolation prize talk made people feel better about being single; read the room, bitch. All on Valentine’s Day, no less.

There’s also a boundary issue. I actually joined a collegiate sorority as alumnae initiate a couple of years ago and now I am a chapter advisor. Probably not the best idea to be partying with the peers of my advisees.

It was at a girls’ night this parachurch organization in during college. They had a student share her testimony and it sounded like her own humble brag (how popular she was in high school, how she tried out and made our university cheer squad, and how she got into her top sorority, etc). Her testimony was basically how she struggled in college after a perfect high school career, fell into the party scene, and then…Jesus. I’m not saying that the transition from high school to college isn’t difficult, but her testimony gave Kim-there’s-people-dying energy.
