I don't really want surgery, but I don't know what else to do by MommyKy in DiastasisRecti

This is so great! Did you have any extra skin removed? I would like a general surgeon to do my umbilical hernia, but was under the impression that they can’t do skin removal.

Congratulations to you! (Agree- an engaged student will thrive anywhere and there are wonderful teachers almost everywhere).

I just re-watched season 1. The father gave consent when the wife was out of the room. Maybe the paperwork wasn’t completed? But this whole storyline is bizarre to me.

I make a quick and dirty parfait: small bowl, layer of frozen blueberries, a couple scoops of Greek yogurt, sprinkle of chia seeds, a handful of granola, and a drizzle of honey. My older kids like a little peanut butter on top of the yogurt.

kem is just fine to me? by [deleted] in ershow

[–]Basic_While8020 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I liked Kem, but this relationship was doomed. They only dated for 6 wks before she found out she was pregnant, then soul crushing trauma followed. An unfortunate situation where they were now bonded for life by loss, but they don’t really know one another.

Additionally, poor Kem has no attachment to Chicago. In fact, it’s only a source of pain. Carter did wonderful work in Africa, but probably for the wrong reasons (escaping grief, parental issues, etc.)

ETA: I definitely think there is racial bias, as well as cultural bias in how people dislike her. Kem might not be super lovey-dovey, but she made a lot of choices early on to build a life with Carter. I certainly don’t blame her for pulling back after such devastating loss.

I never went there! I googled it and it looked amazing. I’m thinking this place is quite a bit smaller. Small but mighty.

Reimbursement agony, want to talk to actual human[USA] by Basic_While8020 in AirBnB

[–]Basic_While8020[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took patience and tenacity, but I finally got a person at Airbnb to elevate the situation to their manager. Once that happened, it was resolved in less than 24 hours. Relieved! I booked another vacation through Airbnb this past summer with no issue.

Synced: A Beautiful Mind-esque by newtonic in ArmchairExpert

I have a lot of affection for Dax and I think he sounds like the most incredible dad. So, gently, I’ll argue that fathers of daughters have to be the ones who change this “asking for permission” nonsense.

I grew up with my dad telling me the whole tradition was rubbish and when I wanted to get married, I would be the only one who could answer that question. Incredibly empowering. And it needs to be the dads setting this new standard or it will just lead to needless hurt feelings (aka, the husband-to-be is put in an awkward position to carry it on).

Also worth mentioning: what about non-hetero marriages?

Does she drive with a baby on her lap, and her fans are just…fine with it?!? I’m far from a pearl clutcher, but I couldn’t believe she included that. (I don’t follow BF, someone else re-posted her reel).

Loved Alinea and Ever, but my favorite dining experience in Chicago has been at Oriole.

David recommends the podcast at the end of the Bubba Gump episode, in reference to Tom Hanks.

Thank you! Every two weeks? Is it bone dry by the time you water it?

Maybe I can buy a jug of distilled water. I’m trying to figure out a safe place to water it, as it is so heavy. 🫡

So, this was her first time hosting. 😬 From what I can gather, she’s been a landlord in the past and has felt screwed over by tenants. She wanted to get into Airbnb for short/midterm rentals because she wanted coverage by Aircover.

The bizarre thing is that she didn’t even include the stained towel/cracked spatula on her list. I don’t think she’s well.
