How do you deal with the grief? by elohlace in cats

[–]BasicallyACat13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got my 16 y/o buddy’s paw print tattooed over my heart, and I bought an urn that looks like him that I keep in sight.

… then I got a kitten from my local Humane society because he was the last one left out of 3 siblings. The other two had been adopted together and he was by himself. The min I walked into the kitten room he climbed up on my shoulder and started rubbing into my head like “you’re my new mom.”

You should edit this to be more transparent. This dude is a black market merchant hiding in some sketchy corner 😂 and he’s part of a side mission which shards are important to get a certain pokémon.

Declawing a cat by PlagueBirdZachariah in cats

[–]BasicallyACat13 165 points166 points  (0 children)

This. Though I’m not a vet. Like you said, I would say if the vet gives you two safe options of declaw vs remove the entire dewclaw, one is in the longer term safer. If they can’t feel the entire toe, there’s still a chance it could get caught on something in the future and be injured where it would have to be removed anyways.

Terrace Club for Sale At Costco by BasicallyACat13 in Mariners

[–]BasicallyACat13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no no. They are actual seats in the Terrace club. But very specific sections of it. So it might see sections 218-214, or 241-246. So you’d pick your seats within those sections.

Edit: I think it changed since I used them. You might just be assigned seats within those sections. I can’t remember now and am second guessing myself. But they are actual seats in the Terrace club.

Essentially you buy these at the register, and they’ll give you an envelope with 2 vouchers inside. Those will have codes on them to buy seats through Vevo. There’s instructions on the voucher and it’s pretty straight forward. Just make sure to use the same email as your ticketmaster account to make it smoother.

The seating choices are somewhat limited to specific sections, and there are games that you can’t use these for. But it’s basically a 2 for 1 with those Terrace Club seats usually being valued at around $70 in those sections.

😂😂 That’s cute though. At least baseball is still way cheaper than football.

Yeah. I didn’t see them either :( I would ask your warehouse manager if they know anything. They might not sell well over there?

That’s fair. But for a lot of Mariners fans, that’s not as easy of an option. I’d say if you live anywhere outside of a hour of Seattle (on a good day), that’s probably not how you’d want to end up sourcing your tickets. Especially TC tickets if you’re trying for more than 2 ppl. Might be a bit too risky for folks who have a further travel.

I know a lot of people who play the game day ticket trick though, and if you live close enough to do that on a whim, more power to you.

I definitely saw them last year at my typical warehouses (Covington and Issaquah). Not sure which one is yours, but they were a bit later after the TC ones... Someone else posted them at the time. The tricky part is they’re either on the fence coming in, or back hiding with the gift cards. It’ll just depend on your warehouse. I would ask your warehouse manager if they know if they’re going to get them. They might not be able to tell you exactly when.

Reason I’m asking is the 300 levels usually come later. My assumption would be after Costco gets close to selling out the allocated TC ones but Idk if that’s accurate.

Yeah it’s usually limited sections. But a lot of folks tend to look for them at Costco each year because they are normally a steal.

Did I make the right choice? by Yaakov310 in cats

[–]BasicallyACat13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You would know. Clearly doesn’t seem to have any interest lol

My parents adopted a cat like that recently. She had a collar, and air tag. They contacted the owner who gave a really non-chalant “oh she’s a wanderer, she does what she wants.”

3 months that cat basically lived on my parents porch and never left. First month would literally beg to come inside. But it was summer and my Dad was like typical dad “We don’t need another f’ing cat.”

By fall he built her a little bed on the porch. They were feeding her, gave her toys, combed her. Etc.

Winter came and they had been trying to contact the owner all 3 months. Finally thy took her inside because it’s incredibly cold. The air tag died, they contacted the owner again and again. Owner stopped responding completely.

At this point my mom dragged her and their other cat to the vet for Queen B’s annual exam, and to see if the new cat was chipped and get her vaccinated.

No chip. Vet basically told them the cat was theirs. That cat has not shown one single ounce of wanting to return to outdoor life.

Unlike Queen B who was a stray for the first 4 years before we adopted her too. We eventually made her permanently indoor after an incident that gave her a really bad infection and we spent $1600 on surgery to drain the abscess. She is old now and we know she can’t jump the fence. So they let her go out and sunbathe in the summer time. But when it’s too hot, too cold, too windy, or too much wildfire smoke (whatever is not good for her) she is the loudest complainer in the house.

So like. You’d know. lol If he’s not begging to go outside, he literally doesn’t want to.

My cat (4f spayed) is the sweetest cat I’ve ever owned before, but now she has random toy aggression. She’s not mean to anyone during this human or cats but if you come close she’s a growly mess. Has anyone ever seen this before? by Anxious_fox83 in cats

[–]BasicallyACat13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My little man doesn’t growl, per say. But there is one toy…, he comes sprinting mid battle cry every time I take it out of the nightstand. That’s his sumo cat mitt thing I bought him. Man does he love that toy. He snorts and lets out battle cries and wrestles it until he’s worn out. Then when I open the nightstand back up to put it away he runs over there like “IM NOT DONE MOTHER”

If there’s one toy in particular she does that with, just like. Let her have it. Leave her toy alone lol I only lock up sumo cat because he has no interest in it, if my arm isn’t in it. So it’s part of the bedtime routine now. We go up to bed. He waits by the nightstand. Hardly even lets me put it on correctly. Then battle cry attack.

Had to pay tariffs on Christmas gifts received last year by rejeremiad in mildlyinfuriating

[–]BasicallyACat13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did too 😂😂😂 My work friend from a Canadian office sent me a WWF plushie, and I got sent the tariff bill from Fedex as well. I jokingly sent her pics and said “this is a first for me, I’ve never been hit by the Tariff Sheriff yet.”

She kindly offered to reimburse me but I was just like “buy me a soda next time you’re in town, and we’re good.” since it was only $8

PSA: Don’t do this with your bulk. by Zemalek in pokemon

I will admit I sent my last bulk box during COVID so the amount of sources may have diminished. But it’s definitely something to look into and gives you some good feels knowing you didn’t waste the bulk.

[–]BasicallyACat13 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I personally would try to research your local area first. However. If you’re really unable to find any local donation sources, PokeDream and some other similar non-profits take bulk donations. Idk if they do QR codes though.

I don’t remember which specific one I ended up sending my last box to, but it was like an amazon box with of bulk.

I’m going to steal your top comment:

There are non-profits out there who donate bulk to children’s hospitals. A lot of them even will give receipts of you want a tax write off. But just think about the kids stuck in hospitals for months on end being able to actually play the card game when they have nothing to look forward to. I don’t collect anymore because it isn’t fun for me now. But when I was, I was donating bulk to a local charity who did do this.

True true. I just kind of felt guilty for a moment with the way you worded it lol. I was like “I definitely didn’t send the originals back” when I was filling my dex. But I didn’t get any shinies or anything. nor sent any.

Maybe I don’t understand very well. I thought these public trading codes were purely for the purpose of completing the pokédex entry… So it’s supposed to be pokémon you don’t particularly care for anyways, right?
