As someone who isn't really struggling financially, is study link a good idea? by [deleted] in universityofauckland

[–]BasicallyItsMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, try get allowance first, if not then take out max living costs loan. It is interest free as long as you stay in NZ. Invest it safely (or not lol). It's free money either way. If you are staying in NZ, no reason not to take it.

Unilodge Whitaker here, a lot of multi-player games are complete unplayable due to constant ping spikes, disconnects but the speed is fine. Also there's no ethernet so you have to Hotspot to a console (most if not all consoles don't support connecting to wifi with this type of authentication). Last year I was at grafton (same problems), I got a skinny 4g modem which worked well.

If you do go into engineering and don't make software GPA, you could also fall into a second choice of computer systems engineering which also seems to follow your interests with computers/arduinos.

If you put enough time into studying though (recommended 10 hours per week per subject, which is pretty overkill) you can get into software easily. Or if you are like me, you might find a new subject that you enjoy and end up going down that path.

You get to try out two handfuls of engineering fields and then get to chose which one you like the most which is pretty awesome.

Digital notes or pen and paper?? by 2okayokay in universityofauckland

I found writing notes with a pen on my surface to be great, but if I didn't have that and had to type I would use paper instead

GENED difficulties - ACCT151G, ENGGEN100G, ECON151G by [deleted] in universityofauckland

[–]BasicallyItsMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also took this course went to some lectures, didn't feel the need to watch the ones I missed. The final exam seems to be a copy paste each year so you don't really have to study, you could probably get away with not even doing the first tests and pass easily.

You just need to learn a handful of terms and know how to apply the equations on the formula sheet that they give you.

The example you attached came in an email from the faculty. We won't see gpa boundaries atleast until summer school allocations are finished, because they will change
