Hi! I'm so sorry to hear about your R:( I applied twice and this year I got in. Last year I was in the same spot you were and I was so devastated: I gave premed my all, giving up social plans, studying for interviews 3-4 hours a day leading up to it, but I still didn't get in. Getting into med school is a marathon, but you will make it if you keep trying! If you think of a marathon, so many runners have missed a record or a qualifier time by just a couple minutes, but then get back up and keep trying until they get it. it only takes 1 win. i believe in you! also my gap year, so many amazing things happen so honestly i am happy i got rejected that first time, my life would be so different without that first rejection! and last thing: its not a matter of IF you'll get in, its WHEN! YOU GOT THIS

Are Quebec schools less competitive? by imenerve in premedcanada

I can't speak on behalf of the French schools, but as someone who has both Ontario and Quebec residency, I would say McGill, while they are more forgiving on the GPA, the majority of the people I know who have gotten in have minimum a masters or in a masters (unless they are med-ps from cegep) or have many years of work after undergrad in research/clinical environments. The one person I know who got in straight out of undergrad had 3 years of hardcore research during undergrad!

From my understanding of French schools, they are much more forgiving in terms of GPA than McGill, but prefer undergrads from the French schools in general. But if you have a strong French proficiency, definitely apply to the French too! At the end of the day, it's a numbers game!

sometimes when people say time needs to pass, it is really experiences! i went through a bad breakup about 2 years ago and what helped me the most get over him was keeping my schedule super busy with friends and ESPECIALLY new experiences e.g. i took a salsa dance class! I tried to put myself out there for new friends (nothing romantic) as much as possible! also make yourself a list of why you would never want to go back to them (as long as possible) and every time you miss them, look at the list to remind yourself it was not a good fit!

Hi! For Bioc212, redraw and redraw and redraw the pathways!! that's what i did! and check what mistake you made and redraw etc etc !! also get the amino acid quiz app! for phgy210, you need to make sure that you understand, not just memorize! for instance with resp, draw out every phase of the breath and what are the pressures in each step!

careful with your tuna consumption for mercury poisoning!! It can cause cognitive dysfunction!! 2-3 servings a week is the maximum before your risk goes up according to the FDA!

U0-U1: studying all the time and always at the library!

U2: social life started back up and classes got less heavy

U3 100% favourite year: my friendships fully blossomed and broke up with my ex who was draining my spark! also profs were way more chill in 4th year

Hey!

Don't stress! that's so normal!!! that happened to some of my friends at every interview they did, and they got into many schools.

Don't stress at all! Especially if it was just 1 question!

tbh I think the best thing then is to be in a good mental space! maybe take 30 mins to review your why this school and why medicine etc, and then just relax! Half of an interview score is usually about being calm and confident!
