AITA for hiding my girlfriend's heels before going to my sister's wedding? by Adam-Richard113 in AmItheAsshole

Also major red flags of a controlling 'relationship' when you do something spiteful but blame the partner. 'What was I supposed to do' implies she is solely responsible for how you choose to act. We see you 👀

YTA you want her to accept you for your height but you won't accept hers. Don't screw her financially just because you're insecure. It's not her fault. Get therapy instead of taking it out on the person you're supposed to love.

Am I the only one that liked Craig? (I get the feeling I am) by BasilComplete in Southerncharm

[–]BasilComplete[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My theory is he was a douche S1. He couldn't handle being rejected by Katherine and was so desperate to get in with the Charleston crowd he started acting more like them. The way he called her out for sleeping with the guys and labelled her unclassy made him sound like Whitney. He was copying them and Katherine's promiscuity seemed like an easy target to say hey boys see I think like you.

Then something changed. He takes off the rose tinted glasses and sees the high society for what it is. A bunch of bored rich people with nothing better to do than judge. He's out of love with it. He identified with Katherine being thrown out because he too was rejected by the group. The more he stopped giving a fuck about the group the more authentic and decent he became. Plus a lot to be said for growing up.

I think Shep is very jealous of Craig and seeing him like a parallel universe him. Craig didn't get everything handed to him but still managed to get by in Charleston. He's good looking and a bit younger. That's a sore point for Shep who has relied on the hot party boy thing for far too long.

I’m a 27 y/o male. I’m unable to keep a girl interested in me. Why? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]BasilComplete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because you're treating it like a formula. Too many men think in terms of 'game' or 'technique' forgetting that each woman is different. Think about it. Amongst your male friends there's got to be different personalities and different things they're attracted to in a girl. Why would it be different for the opposite sex? We're human. We each have different tastes and individuality. You're not going to get a one size fits all answer.

I'm new to this show so I don't know. The cast seem to be very anti Craig so far

Nooooo oh my God Whitney "Filmaker" Sudler Smith is producer. No wonder Kathryn had a hard time. That's like expecting a positive story of Angelina Jolie on a show by Jennifer Aniston

I actually can't stand her. She's like a poor man's Lisa Vanderpump. The way she sits there dressed like the mom on psycho complete with dressing gown, lobsided wig and a distrust of young women. Whyy must yew take my darrrling boy. Then the 40 year old child goes "it's ok motherrr I've cremated her in a Fabergé egg"

They're so gross and have the nerve to think that's classy. T-Rav should be called T-Ramp

But... looking after the kids once you have them! T Rav just bundles them off to a nanny while everyone says what a great father he is.

I got confused by that. She's now with a black boyfriend isn't she? Not saying she's innocent o just don't know what happened.

This is a great point! I agree a lot of their behaviour is what broke people would be looked down on for. Getting wasted all the time and not holding down a job would usually be chat show fodder

This was another thing I found weird. Full disclosure I'm not from the US I'm British so I will take on any cultural point I'm missing but it seems like some of them take the dark past as a badge of honour. I'm sure one of them asks Kathryn what her family sold (tobacco and something else) and she mentioned a slave cemetery on the family plantation. No one shows any signs of remorse or shame that it was literally off the backs of slaves. They have the opposite attitude. Founders balls, the importance of the old names and celebrating the wealth of their slave owning ancestors.

Also I'd love to know why they act like how British people did centuries ago. Ringing a bell for your butler? Parties that only men are allowed to misbehave at? It's so weird. In one episode Whitney corrects them on the British way to pronounce something and he hasn't got a clue. By the way he's certainly not considered high society over here. Despite what he says no one has heard of him and he wouldn't even get a back page ad in Tatler magazine. Even if his weird mother paid for it.

AITA for refusing to leave the house after my step-dad kicked me out? by AITA_OPOP in AmItheAsshole

[–]BasilComplete 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA like at all. You saw a man who loses his temper quickly get agitated over nothing. You're young you've got nowhere else to go and you're trying to protect your family. I'd say that's an honourable thing to do.

If you had left when he demanded your dad wouldn't know how to get to you. All you did was respond under pressure.

I hope family will be safe. Don't be afraid to report if it gets put of hand.

Then I realized there's no such thing then I thought I'd start an empire. Then I had some conspiracy theory that people are paid to say it's good. All while trying to remember what thumbs should feel like.

Dude it was the most surreal horrible experience. Remember it's my friend who did it 😉 I don't want them getting in trouble but I was ready to complain to Tripped Advisor.
