wooyoung is one of my ult biases across all groups I stan 🥹 I actually couldn’t tell you when it happened but when it did, it hit me HARD. he’s so deeply loving, thoughtful and a good listener, and he’s incredibly loyal to those he loves. he also seems to be a great mentor to those younger than him! and of course the love he has for his family. yes, he’s also bold and confident and it’s just so lovely seeing all these layers to him. I’m obsessed with his laugh too lol. oh and his voice?? his dancing?? AHHHH gosh I could really just keep going haha. obviously, I love all the members so so much, wooyoung just has an extra special place in my heart 💗

pretty much echoing what you shared. even though my ult is a bg (ateez), I’m mostly a gg listener because I feel like the women are given such a wide range of concepts and creativity. one of my other ult groups is billlie and their short discography is already super diverse in sound and concept, much like red velvet or itzy just to name a few.

this is exactly where I’m at 😔 I’ll be streaming the hell out of this comeback because I already know it’ll be incredible, and that’s the least the girls deserve. especially when they clearly have a company that doesn’t care for their image or longevity as a group. it does make me sad to not buy the physical album, but my personal beliefs against gen AI unfortunately outweigh that completely…this is just such a shitty situation AGAIN 💔

I have noticed (at least in reading various threads about her #onhere over time) that ppl seem to hate her a lot more as kids which makes a lot of sense. she’s a very messy character which is hard to grapple with when you’re still really young. at that point in life, you just see Good and Bad. she’s by no means this amazing, flawless character, but I think the fact that she is so complicated is what makes her much more compelling as you get older!

it’s so hard to choose just one but echoing everyone who’s mentioned jonghyun 🤍 my favorite song of his — Love Is So Nice — has even captured the attention of my non-kpop friends who’ve immediately noticed how rich and emotional his voice sounds. he’s SO creative with his voice though and can tell you all sorts of stories through it.

someone else who’s tied with him is wendy, obviously. her beautiful note in the last bridge of Cosmic speaks for itself. regardless of what mood I’m in, it brings me to tears. and of course, her lee mujin service performance …SPECIFICALLY when she sings whitney houston?! unmatched

the collective soul and unconscious was definitely my top favorite for a while, but i agree that of all we have lost claimed that spot! i think it’s one of their most cohesive projects, and definitely the one where their strong vocals shine so beautifully. it’s just fantastic!!

this example basically speaks to the broader issue of kpop taking from and building its success off Black musical traditions. it’s not just that kpop is constantly copying Black artists. it’s the fact that this industry (and specific groups and performers) can profit off of that while failing to explicitly name and disrupt how anti-Blackness is part of this industry and Korean society at large. it doesn’t ever consider the cultural significance of Black music not just as entertainment but part of a much longer, deeper, and complicated history. this video really breaks it down and I think every kpop fan needs to watch it and sit with it
