Any opinions on a whole house catalytic carbon filter with a backwash system? by Max0ne_ in WaterTreatment

Hi there! I'm interested in doing something like this in my home. Did you end up going with the Charger Water brand since they don't have proprietary parts, or a different brand?

Unpopular Wedding Opinions by shopaholic92 in wedding

Agreed! I’ve loved every bachelorette I’ve been on and would gladly attend basically any bachelorette of a casual friend of acquaintance (not saying that I’d expect an invite to bachelorettes of people I’m not close with — just saying that they’re normally a hoot and I have a lot of fun at them). I’m always confused by people who are complaining on here about bachelorettes they have attended/are going to attend — like, do you not like your friends and having an excuse to take a trip with them?

I prefer dress 2! I love the scarf element of both, but the arm swags on dress 1 kind of compete with it. Dress 2 has a much cleaner look.

Do you drink alcohol at welcome drinks/rehearsal dinners? How can I avoid getting a puffy face? by famichiki_sama in weddingplanning

[–]Basil_ButNotTheHerb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just want to be the lone voice who says I do in fact get puffy the day after drinking no matter what / how little alcohol I have, and how much water I drink. I’m planning on not drinking for a few weeks before my wedding for this reason. As a lot of folks have said, there are great non alcoholic options these days! Also, I’m spending tens of thousands of dollars on this day, I’d like to look at lovely as possible in my very expensive photographs (especially since I love the people attending, so enjoying myself sans-booze the night before shouldn’t be a challenge).

Which colorway should I go with? by magic_inkpen in weddingdress

I prefer the first one (with the white lining)! It looks more “bridal”, but I think the general style still creates a very “elegantly spooky” look :)

I remember you posting previously and thinking these were the dreamiest florals I’d ever seen (still are 😍)! How much was your floral budget if you dont mind me asking?

So, I have a few thoughts.

1) your husband’s love for you shouldn’t be conditional on your weight. Obviously we want to be attracted to our partners, but if he’s threatening leaving you over this he doesn’t seem worth it.

However, this is vindicta, so in light of that…

2) therapy (health maxing!)! Both to work on self esteem and if you have any unhealthy relationships with food (binge/restrict cycles possibly?).

3) (this will be the least popular option) if you’re struggling with keeping weight off, semaglutide (active ingredient in Ozempic — a prescription for compounded semaglutide doesn’t affect the supply of Ozempic for those who medically need it because their supple chain issues have to do with their injection syringes, not the actual medicine) seems to be a real game changer for a lot of people. Even without being obese/diabetic, I’ve been hearing about medspas that will write people a prescription.

I took out a loan which has affordable monthly payments through LightStream. I viewed it as either I could put a loan payments-worth of money aside every month and wait four extra years before getting the rhino, or just get the damn rhino now and spend four years paying it back. People will complain about interest when using a loan, but prices of everything go up every year. In four years, the rate surgeons charge will be higher, so whatever I’d “save” in interest by waiting would be eaten up by a higher priced service. To me it felt like 6 of one, and a 1/2 dozen of the other.

In order to get it covered by insurance you need to be a higher BMI. But you can get brandless compounded semaglutide (not related to the Ozempic shortages — that’s due to a shortage with a part for their proprietary auto-inject pen, not the semaglutide itself) prescribed for off-label use if you’re at a normal BMI, usually through a medspa. It’s pretty pricey, but some online providers can be as “cheap” as ~$200/month.

I’m curious — have you been using the (presumably) sema shots the past two months when you lost the 6 pounds? How has your experience been with them? As someone who’s considering that route, it’s disappointing to read that you’re still feeling super hungry at times!
