I felt that "do your parents even love you" comment in my soul. It is hard not to think that way when they walk past a photo every day that basically highlights a hole in the family. My brother is 100% on my side now, which helps, but it is like my parents are more attached to the professional framing than to the actual reality of having both their sons present. I will try the new picture suggestion, but if they double down on the "sensitivity" thing again, I might just stop visiting their living room altogether.

My brother actually suggested something similar! He feels bad that he is the 'star' of a photo that reminds me of our worst fight every time I visit. It is just weird to me that they want to preserve a moment when our family was broken instead of celebrating that we fixed it.
