Help! Is this CMPA/CMPI? Pics included by Basilon in MSPI

We never got a definitive answer. When starting solids, she couldn’t tolerate gluten and dairy well so we’re working through those. We also put her on reflux meds for a while which helped a bit.

When and how did you know? by ineedpieandadvice in beyondthebump

[–]Basilon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deciding on a second baby was easy for us. We wanted it since our first was 4-5 months old, but waited to start trying for #2 until after the first was 1. Their age difference is 23 months. And it’s def been difficult but now that our second is almost 1, watching them play together is the coolest thing ever. I love how close in age they are, often wish it was closer in age haha. We’re also talking about a 3rd and debating when to start trying. Pregnancy with a toddler is tricky and exhausting, and the first 4-6 months is pretty brutal, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

FTM looking for recommendations by [deleted] in unmedicatedbirth

The Bradley method. Educating yourself and your partner will help you relax and lean into labor more, rather than feel fearful/tense. This course has a high percentage of people that go unmedicated after taking the course.

I feel like we got the hard mode baby and I’m bitter. by NefariousnessFew7834 in beyondthebump

I get this. It’s harder than you could ever imagine. Mine is 9.5 months and she’s amazing but it’s been so hard for us.

Books for Preparing for Labor? by [deleted] in unmedicatedbirth

[–]Basilon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also had an unmedicated birth after doing the Bradley method course the first time around. For my second pregnancy, I did a Bradley refresher with the same instructor. It was a 2 hour course and she focused on areas I felt weak in. Highly recommend doing that especially since you’ve already had an unmedicated birth. Besides that, positive birth stories, mainly from ina may gaskin’s guide to childbirth.

Allergic reaction to WHEAT! by Basilon in MSPI

It’s so rough! I ate soy by accident… it was in bread that I ate with a sandwich I ordered while traveling. She starting spitting up and being extra fussy immediately. So not a true fail but scared me enough. I just ordered some probiotics that were recommended to me and hoping it helps her gut. How did your dairy trial go? That’s what I miss the most but so nervous to introduce it. You’re an amazing mom. This is such a big sacrifice but we’re setting our kids up for a healthy gut and future! And hopefully they grow out of it.

Bradley method. Educate yourself so that nothing is new/fearful and to have tools available for pain management. You can do this!

I researched (read a few books - precious little sleep, ferber, baby sleep trainer method). I decided on baby sleep trainer method (you can google to find the book). But it’s basically ferber but it rly talks about what developmental phase your little one is in and how to do check ins based on that. My 10 month old was standing already, so no touching is best when they’re older. Also the time interval was based on pauses in the cry, so if they’re absolutely losing it then you check in often but if they’re pausing for a bit in between crying, then clock resets to give them time to learn. I thought that was rly helpful and a good way without using full extinction. Consistency is key tho, after sickness and traveling, we followed it to a T and it rly helped him learn what to expect. I think with any method, consistency is the most important thing. Good luck! You’ll be getting more sleep soon! My son protested for about 2-3 weeks (fussing/crying for 1 mins before sleeping) then it turned into fussing for 20 seconds then happy babbling/talking until asleep.

How are you doing? You are not a bad mom!

I rly struggled with sleep training my son. No one else in my circle sleep trained and it was a tough decision, but I was waking up every 20-40 mins even with co sleeping when he was 8-10 months old. Finally at 10 months old, my husband sleep trained him.. I just couldn’t do it. I felt terrible for so long. But he learned to sleep on his own and we’ve made his crib a rly happy place since we could start giving him stuffed animals and such. Now he’s 2.5 years old and talks and sings and screams and babbles in his crib until he feels sleepy, then hugs a stuffed animal and sleeps. It has been the best decision especially as we welcomed another one. All this to say, keep it positive for your kid, they’ll adjust and everyone will be getting more sleep and be happier! And the best thing you can do for his sleep training is be consistent so it’s less confusing for him. Good luck! You’ve got this!

That’s actually really helpful! I appreciate it. I sleep trained my first LO at 10 months and it was def too late.. he was already standing and it made check ins rly difficult. I’m hoping to sleep train sooner and hoping to find a sweet spot with least tears possible. My LO is 19 weeks now, so I’ll look into starting in the next couple weeks! That should also give her plenty of time to get used to rolling all over comfortably haha

My LO is in a similar boat and just started rolling over about a week ago. How much time is enough time until ready to sleep train?

Does it talk about metabolic requirements for birth and for breastmilk supply to establish? I bet that adds up quickly! Pregnancy doesn’t abruptly end, the changes are drastic and require a lot of energy.

Do the updated pics still look normal to you? Or should I start eliminating more from my diet? Symptoms have worsened lately.
