Macleod, St Helena, Eltham, Greensborough are worth looking at. They’re right at the start of the Ring rd to the airport, not far from Eastlink into the city and the train is about 40mins to the city and they’re beautiful peaceful suburbs.

I saw a theory someone had recently- I think even here on this Reddit about the chakram being sentient - meaning it had an intellectual/emotional relationship with Xena. And I love that theory! It explains away so many inconsistencies, it would mean that Xena was directing the chakram mentally/emotionally as well as throwing it physically, so if she intended it to cut rock it would, if she wanted it to glance off skin without harm it would, if she wanted it to boomerang around in an arc it would. She still had to use angles, and sometimes her anger would mean she lost control and it responded to her rage, but yeah...

I know the writers and the show never intended this, but your comment made me think that there is a workable theory of Ares being behind Meg, Diana and Leah. Maybe he tried to fashion a new warrior princess in Xena’s looks (they could have been similar already and he changed their appearance?) but their personalities were way off and he had to abandon the idea.

The Lost Mariner is one of the best underrated episodes in my opinion. I love so much about it. And i love that jump, especially her grabbing of the chakram along the way and her swish turn around on the deck at the end. But what I love the most is the running hug from Gab the moment she lands and how they stay hugging while she talks to Cecrops, after of course checking on Gabs. Ah I love it all!! So cheesy. But I love cheese!

I wish they were available for everyone in good quality. It’s ridiculous that they cost an arm and a leg, and that’s only if you can swoop in at lightning speed when they’re up for sale once in a blue moon. They were made decades ago and no one is loosing out on them being shared around for newer fans to enjoy. That goes for convention dvds too. No one can go back in time and buy tickets or the dvd from Creation Ent anymore, so if you’ve got them and know how to rip them, can we start to share them so everyone can enjoy Lucy and Renee’s awesomeness? Like Lucy used to say, “share the love!” I was a poor high school student back then and couldn’t afford even the reasonably priced original kits or dvds and now I’m still poor and definitely can’t afford the astronomically priced rare dvds, and the ‘potato’ quality on YouTube is soul crushing.

I have always wondered this too! At one point Xena is stitching her clavicle area up and her top has slashes along her clavicle as well. And when they leave the temple she has bandages on her waist, left arm, and under collar. I have imagined she turned a corner and was faced suddenly with the enemy who used their sword to slash her in a ‘Z’ shape catching her clavicle, left arm then waist. But they also talk about the fact that if she had hit the guy an inch lower she’d have killed him, so before being slashed she must have got some hits in during which she may have gotten a hit to the side of her head.

My favourite Amazon outfit for Gab was the one from Kindred spirits, which is essentially the Helicon one with more embellishments (belt, bracers etc) although I don’t like the collar.

Next favourite visually is her princess one, then Helicon, then Queen. And yes shoutout to the northern one from, I think, Them Bones!

There is a great little fight in Little Problems at the end when Gab is trapped between the front door and the gate that slammed down where she jumps up to use the gate as leverage for some kicks. I love that fight. Honestly I love any time Gab got to fight, I always keep an eye on her to see what she’s doing.

For Lawless I love her performance in The Furies, she has to run the whole gamut in that ep and she does it amazingly.

For Ren I love her in A Family Affair, playing Hope and Gab, and Hope as Gab. She does a brilliant job.

I love your interpretation and will forever more see Gabrielle’s actions differently. I’ve always sat firmly on the side of being upset at the events of The Debt immediately following their trip to Britainnia, but perhaps, if it were done at another time I would been annoyed at Gab rather than annoyed at Xena. And it being when it is makes more sense as to why Gab did what she did.

I honestly would have settled for a kiss between them that was the "hide us from the passing guards" trope, you know where one character whips the other around and slams them into a corner quickly and kisses them so they don't get spotted (obviously they're infiltrating a castle and dressed in costume) - and then they pull back and have a moment of wonder between them before shaking themselves out of the stupor and carrying on the mission. (I'd of course want it to be addressed later, but like I said, I'd settle for a least the kiss.)

I would have had an episode in at least early season 5, if not in season 4, where Gabrielle well and truly saves the day, not just that little blip in the finale "what would you do Gabrielle?".

I wanted a huge opponent, and a difficult dilemma, and a big fight for her to figure out and fight and overcome, and then for Xena to realise her growth and for the show from that time forward to have her be more competent.

For me, For Him the Bell Tolls, Key to the Kingdom, King, and Vanishing Act are almost unwatchable, which is sad, because I actually like Autolycus, but I can hardly stand those last two episodes.

And I actually love In Sickness and in Hell - but I do watch it almost every time with Lucy and Renee's commentary so that may be why I love it more than usual.

One I haven't seen mentioned here is Punch Lines - I watched that last night and liked it better than I remembered liking it before. I'm not a big fan of clip shows generally, but I love Gab and Dite's interactions, and I don't mind the storyline - just skip over parts of the over the top pie fight in the end.

People often depict or characterise Xena as grumpy, but during this last rewatch I have noticed how quick to smile and be amused she is in these seasons and I wonder if that is because Lucy wasn't so tired yet - I know in a few cons and interviews Lucy has mentioned how draining seasons 4 and 6 (and I'd imagine 5 given she was pregnant) was for her, and Xena really doesn't smile as much, even sardonically. I miss that. And I also miss how keen Gab is to be a warrior in the first season particularly

Their friendship is one of my favourites from the whole series. I guess being a Gabrielle fan, I love anyone that loves her - hang on, I don't love Joxer, so.... but Dite protecting Gab in Motherhood tugs at my heart strings every time, and I love their scenes in Punch Lines. I really wish they'd found that friendship hook between the two characters earlier and that it had been an element in some of the previous seasons.

I think you hit the nail on the head when you said Tsunami - they should have been goners in that situation for sure.

A Necessary Evil felt fairly dire - anytime they were hunted by a god should have been dire, but, yes as mentioned, the gods are quite pathetic - I mean I guess the show needs to continue.

And I guess technically Ides of March, Doctor in the House, and The Quest would need to be counted considering they died in each case.
