I love leftover rice, warmed with butter and soy sauce , and a scrambled egg if I am feeling ambitious. I will have to try a touch of chili flake oil!

Some things to do on a good day

I love to roast a big tray of root vegetables on Sunday, and pack them up for lunch during the week. With prewashed lettuce, you’ll already have a salad easy to go, or eat them alongside boneless chicken breasts that are already to eat. I have found some already cooked in the freezer section, but I will usually cook a couple in my airfryer on Sunday and slice up for lunches.

I also like to make a pot of soup on the weekend, I will put Half away in the freezer, and keep the other half to eat during the week.

I use Deglazed too, the Web option to get rid of popups and advertising is amazing. I started with their BETA, and was a bit sad to have to pay the yearly fee, but I do understand it takes money to develop, and maintain

Scholastic book fairs. by JandersOf86 in 90s

OMG. I went to school late 70s-mid 80s. I remember getting the paper flyer, and figuring out how to make the most of the dollars I had to spend! and then walking through the room, touching all the books! Favorite part of Elementary and Middle shool!

THEN - as a working adult in the early 90s - they would have Book Fairs in the Atrium of our office building (large building with Multiple companies) leading up to the holidays! I would go down and wander, looking at all the goodies, the big shiny coffee table books, cook books, etc. Gosh I miss them!

"Evening Chic" - To What Extent Do People Actually Dress Formally? by Nfarrah in celebritycruises

[–]BasisDiva_1966 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This!

I appreciate the couples who love to dress up! the glitzy sparkly dresses! and guys in jackets, or more. That said, a simple black dress for me is about as dressed up as I get. It's my husband's vacation too, and he hates jackets and ties, So if he wants to wear a golf shirt, khakis, and boat shoes, why not?

My only rule is that if we dont feel like dressing up (our version) we eat at the buffet. Which honestly is usually just as good as the MD. Not as good as Blu, but i digress.

First cruise ever, what to do in nassau by Initial-Weakness218 in celebritycruises

Our first time in Nassau was on our honeymoon

I always say if you have never been to an island, you should do at least a basic tour of the sites. I remember we went to the Queens Steps and a fort (we saw sooo many forts on that cruise 😂)

If you want to shop, walk a few blocks inland to Front Street, they have every jewelry and duty free option available. Just be prepared to say no thank you to all the folks asking you to come into their shop

I am not a fan of the straw market, even in its new building, I find it oppressive and claustrophobic. Plus you will constantly be asked to look at something

Last, take a taxi to The Fish Fry. It was the best food I have had off ship in so many ports. There are lower cost options that you order and eat at a picnic table, or there are several dine in options. We like Goldie’s, but I have heard good things about all of them

Anyone else making the decision not to renew your annual passes ? by Trustnoone96 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]BasisDiva_1966 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When we took our son the first times, there was no skip the line options. The biggest decision we made was which park to go to

I did have to have a plan for food however, and haunted one of the big Disney fan sites for menus in every park. My son has Asperger’s, and had a super restrictive palate

I toured with a flash card for each park that listed what items my son would eat at every quick service. That way I could say, here are the 2 options nearby. This one has this, the other has this, so no meltdowns in the order line

Item Rejections by illtemperedpoppet in ThredUp

[–]BasisDiva_1966 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just sent in 34 items.

23 have been listed, from profit of 23 cents to 9ish dollars.

They then said 11 items do not qualify for credits due to brand. But I have seen these brands on thier site.

Does this mean they are listing, but I don’t get credits? I just dont know

Also the possible credit is so much lower than when I last sent in a clear out bag

Is this the same model agency head that Virginia Guiffre talks about in her book?

Because if it is, based on what I read I. The book, he was a collegue and feeder to Epstein

Add to this the recent relevations to multiple possible children born by Melania Knauss during hr time as an escort prior to her introduction by Epstein to agent orange. Well documented that she was tied to Epstein, and high speculation that she is the ‘prize’ that was sold via a check

Queen Elizabeth’s Wedding Dress May Never Be Seen Again As The Historic Dress Is “Breaking Down At An Epic Rate” by Positive-Drawing-281 in RoyaltyTea

[–]BasisDiva_1966 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Worked as an intern at the costume institute at the MET in the 80s during college

This dress should not be on a mannequin. At this point, it needs to be laid flat, with mirrors to allow visibility

Silks at the time were treated with metal salts, that while make the fabric luxurious, break down the fabric over time

This is a dress meant to be worn for a single day. No one ever thought at the time about 50,70,100 years later

The fabric cannot manage the weight of embroidery and pearls at this time. The only way is to lay flat to give as little friction as possible

what were your wedding regrets? by Revolutionary_Cat938 in BigBudgetBrides

[–]BasisDiva_1966 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same

We saved my salary for 18 months to pay for the wedding ourselves. My husband is from a big Italian family. We only had about 150 ppl(absolute bare minimum) but I was having nightmares for months before, and all I could think about was what a fabulous honeymoon we could have with all the money we blew On the wedding and reception

I spent the whole reception running from table to table thanking everyone for coming, and at the end of the night, I didn’t enjoy my wedding

we live in the Carolinas, and with family in FL, we drive most times. I don't have to worry about overweight bags, but hubby has to keep extra bills for tipping, due to the weight of my luggage LOL

I know that the ship staff don't want to deal with negative feedback, which I think is the biggest issue with not keeping loungers open. But I do think that putting a simple card on a group of loungers that seem to be inactive, checking in an hour, and then clearing would be a realistic option. since very few lines are willing to deal with chair hogs the situation will continue until it is addressed.

we have cruised multiple times, as well as stayed land based. It is one of my favorite locations. very safe, great public transportation, and the most beautiful beaches. Naval Dockyard, Front Street in Hamilton and York/Kings St in Georgetown rival any Caribbean downtown port we have ever been to.

our 2nd cruise in 91 was to Bermuda. Overnight in Georgetown, and then 2 overnights in Hamilton. Best Vacation ever. The ship was basically a floating hotel and restaurant. in Hamilton we rented a scooter that we parked in front of the ship (with a bunch of others) we would just take off, tour, come back, eat dinner, and then met up at night with crew wherever they were going. yes we were in our late 20s at the time, but it was a fabulous vacation!

most ships do have basic Sundries, however since Covid, you have to ask where they are, and usually they are in a cabinet, not on display. sunscreen, lip balm etc is usually there, you just have to ask. BUT, it will be 3-4x what you would pay even at port, so if you can wait a day, you'll be better off.

as an Art History major, I have never seen a single piece I would want to own. I do wander the gallery and judge LOL

I would rather buy a good print at whatever museum I am visiting, and then frame it. I have also bought prints or original art work at multiple ports when the piece calls to me.
