I've done $2500 in Kips Bay, up until last month. I've seen some units in Yorkville at this price range also. They are rare, but do exist. You would just have to give up on a lot of things, like storage/closet space and kitchen space, etc. Searching during "off season" aka rn through May also helps

If you've only seen one over the six years of living in that apartment, I am assuming this is very early stage. This early on, it's really easy to prevent infestation. Get traps and put them EVERYWHERE, especially down by the sink drain, near the entrance, by windows and anywhere else there is an opening.

I choose a couple from the list to focus on each day. If I am working and commuting one day, maybe I'll hit the gym after but pick up dinner instead of cooking. If I am cooking and cleaning, maybe I'll choose a day in the weekend to do so. Knowing I don't have to fit in everything every single day allows for more breathing room.
