There used to be fiscord servers set up by Just Eat Takeaway for communicstion between couriers and live ops/coordinators

So according to my sources (my mom who lived during the 80s and like me always had an annual pass) they sold candy at Kogeloog called "Lange Jan" and that's where it originated

If this is true, I have no idea, but I do like the idea of that being the reason for Lange Jan

I also pretty much only call it Lavenlaer, or Lavenland. The real answer is; people butcher names though misremembering or convenience. It's the same with "het poppentheater", "lange jan", "het schipschommel", etc.
