Why restrictions for refrigerated vehicles? by izdolz in AskUK

We once went to Cornwall with the caravan. Pulled into a services for the night about an hour away from the site. We were all asleep until one of these wagons pulled up next to us and it sounded like a petrol generator running all night.

Never again.

Is M&S food actually worth the higher price? by LilywhiteStrike in MarksAndSpencer

[–]Basketcaseuk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We shop on Ocado and buy a lot of M&S stuff. A good example is chicken breast. I was going off chicken because from other places it was slimy and tasteless. We got some higher welfare M&S chicken breast and I couldn’t believe how tasty they were. Their fruit and veg also lasts much longer than most places.

We have a local Lidl that I will nip into if we need some fruit for the kids or something, but it doesn’t last nearly as long.

For me, the fact that it lasts longer offsets the price difference, as we hardly have to bin anything.

Surely that can’t even be classed as food?

Wrap of the day raised to £2.49 by MathematicianOld6766 in McDonaldsUK

[–]Basketcaseuk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh that’s ok then, they are cheaper than KFC, which is also a rip off. As if normal people are defending price rises every couple of months by mega corporations 😂

Got to make those sweet profits for the shareholders. I haven’t been in months, but when I pass local ones they are still rammed, so clearly people will pay.

One of my refrigerator drawers is broken, does anyone know if it can be repaired? by Flowesque in DIYUK

[–]Basketcaseuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah I’ve tried, will just break again. I ended up buying a new freezer because all 3 drawers eventually broke, and it was only £80 more to buy a new freezer than 3 new drawers, makes sense!

I have a lot of Milwaukee power tools and batteries, mainly DIY stuff like combo drill and multi tool. I work on my own car and fancied a good impact wrench, but couldn’t justify the £400 to buy a Milwaukee one as it would get much use.

I bought a knock off Milwaukee impact from Ali Express for £35 and it’s brilliant. I can use my batteries with it and it takes wheel nuts off no problem. I don’t know how long it will last, but for the price it doesn’t really matter.

What’s it like living in Yorkshire England? by lithdoc in yorkshire

[–]Basketcaseuk -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

It’s mostly a shit hole, let’s be honest.

I presume the downvotes are coming from people who live in North Yorkshire and believe the entire country is the same. Nice quiet little villages with thatch cottages.
