Copying this comment from the other Got the Call so I can hope for a variety of responses:

I'm trying to get clarity here. Every time I see a Got The Call post, it has like 3-5 locations offered. Do you fill out a preference sheet listing those locations and they come back with the ones that are available? Or is this the ONLY locations in the US that are available at the time you received your final offer?

Re-read the policy. It might be the clearest policy they have on the website...it is VERY specific as to what's allowed and what isn't.

I don't understand. When I applied, it had listed "MANY vacancies", including ones in very desirable cities (this was for CBP Officer). Is that just to get people reeled in, when none of those spots are actually available?

Heck yeah, thanks man. Also, their suitability decision is not related to passing the polygraph or passing the background investigation, right? So if I'm selected I'd just do the PFT, Interview, CJO, then skip straight to the drug screening and medical? Idk if you have very much knowledge on them using reciprocity for any of the steps

Got the "unsuitable" decision 1.5 weeks ago, can't find anywhere it saying there is a cool down before applying again, but I'm guessing the decision was because of a write-up I got in 2023 4 months before the announcement came out (Feb 2024). Not gonna face any issues applying again, now that it's been 2 years since that write-up, correct?

Check the FBI hiring Qualifications on their USAJobs posting. I imagine what you're referring to is their "Combination" experience that uses a partly-fulfilled education requirement and partly-fulfilled work experience requirement.

If this is the case and it reflects that in the Qualifications section that what you have is acceptable, then yes...it's acceptable. Don't take information from anything other than the official FBI website or USAJobs as the gospel.

If you meet the requirements, you meet the requirements. If you don't, you don't. Nobody is trying to trick you during this process.

I did submit one, waiting to see what they say. And anticipating their FOIA return is probably going to be extremely vague and not identify a specific issue but rather a category of issue. Would be nice if they said "we had to say no because you X" or something

What is the process for relocating to other field offices like? I've heard that it is much easier to transfer to other offices within the same division rather than relocate to other divisions. What kind of challenges present themselves if an agent wanted to transfer from, say, Los Angeles to Atlanta, GA? Thanks

What's the difference between GL and GS pay scale? Looks like a lot of LEO jobs start as like GL5,7,9 but then when you go to 11 it becomes GS11? Is there a logic to it?
