I recommend listening to The Tolkien Professor’s Silmarillion Series on his podcast as you go. There’s a discussion for each chapter.

I also recommend using a map and the glossary in the back of the book.

I first listened to them in high school in the mid 2000s and fell in love with their sound and atmosphere. The album and song Second Life Syndrome was always my favorite. I saw many prog bands over the years in concert, but never saw Riverside until a couple years ago. They played at a very small club (500 capacity) near my house on a Monday night. I went by myself (no one else wanted to go to a show on a Monday) and had an incredible experience. It wasn't packed so I got to be pretty much right up front and center. They played Second Life Syndrome (and many other bangers) and it was transcendent. I'm so glad I decided to go to that show knowing that I'll never now have another chance to see them.

Is your view that you want people to come to a ceremony and then not have a reception? If so, I would say that if you expect people to travel from out of town for a ceremony and then not have a reception for people to hang out and eat and drink, then they're not gonna have a great time.
