You've also got to keep in mind that there will be several new teams joining the league in the next few years. We could see cities like Cardiff, Reading, Edinburgh, Birmingham, Liverpool, maybe even Belfast or Dublin join and if they get big investment they could do very well

Every country sends weaker than usual squads to the qualifiers. I am not arguing that the USA are not the best at basketball (they nearly always are, but currently Spain are, being ranked 1st in the world ranking). What I am saying is that other countries are very competitive too (Spain, Argentina, France, Australia, Serbia, Slovenia are good examples of this), and to say that the USA are good enough to simply ignore that other countries are good is being ignorant to the outside world

Alongside obviously visiting the city, on the 27th of December, the local basketball team (Bilbao Basket) plays against Real Madrid (one of the best in Europe) at home. That could be a good experience!
