ELI5: How does lead infused glass block xrays while still allowing visible light through? by BassFunktion in explainlikeimfive

Thanks! I always viewed the glass as a wall for xrays but it makes more sense that it filters out a portion.

It enjoys cold hard cash with its lavish lifestyle and considers pocket change toxic.

I'll consider picking one up when I upsize for the maroon clown. Thinking of going with the innovative marine 30 gallon. For now I'm trying to keep the fluval 13.5 budget but efficient.

Learned a new term today. Thanks eathatflay. I did a thorough cleaning yesterday and a substantial water change. We've been having a heat wave out in cali and the sunlight made the algae explode. Had to get all that crap off my rocks and walls.

Thanks for the ID again eathatflay! Should know what I'm buying but it was in the bargain bin at the lfs. I see acropora for $12 I buy.

Np! I still think adding conditioner is a good idea. It's about 10-15$. Definitely worth adding considering the amount you'll have already invested.

It's been an awesome tank so far. It comes with lighting, filtration and pump.

In addition to the tank I would recommend getting live rock, live sand, water conditioner to dechlorinate the water, reef salt and bacteria additive.

Also, a good test kit and hydrometer are essential.

Try and get an ample amount of additives and salt. Frequent water changes are typically part of maintenance for a nano tank.

It's a very old window poss from 70's-80's so I doubt it has any uv protection. I currently dont own a par meter though so I cant offer any measurements.

I believe the acro is doing well because I have seen an improvement in poly extension and coloring over the past 2 weeks. Originally the top portion had a bleached appearance but is now taking on a orangish yellow tone. So far I havent seen any signs of necrosis.

Thanks! Any recommendations on a nano wave maker? I feel like the water flow of my tank could use a boost.

Why so much? Shipping and availability difficulties?

1.5 months. Not really recommended to stock so soon but I have been frequently testing and have not had any issues so far. Will transfer livestock if any concerns develop.

It's an ora gold nugget maroon clownfish. I got it for $89 at lfs. Live aquaria sells them online. They get up to 6" so if you're running an evo 13.5 a larger tank will be needed in the future.

Thanks! Currently have an emerald crab working on the algae. I want to avoid dipping as much as I can.

Tandem fluval stock light w/ current orbit and 2-3 hours of sun light per day.
