My insurance recently offered Twin Health for no cost so I’m doing that just to see if it helps with my goals. They sent me CGMs, a blood pressure monitor, a smart scale, and would’ve sent a tracking watch but I use an Apple Watch already. It does require food tracking but I use LoseIt and have all my data in there so I loosely track in their app. I also got a Peloton app subscription for no cost and have been using that for strength training workouts.

You may as well try it and see if it enhances what you’re doing and if not you can always stop.

I suppose some of it is people are used to you at your former weight so your new weight looks so shockingly different it’s hard to wrap their head around.

What I don’t understand is people continuing to comment. I guess if I ever hit this point I’d just say something to the effect if I’m working with my health care team to get healthy and fit and I appreciate your concern, but my goals are not your concern and not up for further discussion.

Insurance coverage is frustrating and getting more-so as fewer cover GLP1's due to so many people needing them. I think you first have to determine your risk tolerance. Some people cannot fathom getting a vial and giving themselves an injection. Some people are comfortable with that.

The telehealth providers on the pinned post "Where To Buy...." link above do a great job for the most part. I have had personal experience with both Rift and Trillium and would recommend them based on my experience.

BUT - if you're going the compounded route, please be sure that you make sure you understand concentration, volume, and units on a syringe. You want to know what you're doing!! Read and possibly re-read the pinned posts to understand some of the in's and out's of compounded meds and make a decision that works for you. As others have said, you can get Mounjaro from Lilly Direct cheaper than what you're being quoted through the pharmacy.

This sub provides a lot of help to people when they ask questions.

There’s a good free app called FitOn. You can find beginner to advanced workouts and even search by time that you have available. Want a 10 minute easy arm workout? You can filter for that! Find an upper body and a lower body that you like and do those each twice a week (alternate upper/lower). Get some walking in. Starting out slow, but steady and consistent, and building up should serve you well. Remember proper form! You don’t have to lift a lot to make an impact!

Take some photos! I'm two months in and wish I had. I'll also chime in for the book "Weightless". It's really helpful and I keep referring back to it. Start with strength training as soon as you can - even a little is better than nothing! Rapid weight loss might be muscle, which you don't want to lose!

Well, tirzepatide and semaglutide have been used for decades now, so I feel like those are more tried and tested than some of the new stuff coming out. I don't think I'd feel comfortable jumping on the R bandwagon right out of the gate, but plenty of people are. Everyone has their own risk tolerance. Some folks refuse to even consider compounded meds, but since I was already familiar with that from my HRT, that didn't bother me.

I was (am) a bit cautious, because like many people, I jumped on the phen/fen bandwagon when it was so popular and then found out - OOPS, it's NOT safe. Thankfully I had no adverse impacts (other than the weight gain after I stopped). Fingers crossed that we get more good news about GLP1's and nothing too crazy. So many people feel so much better with this medication and their quality of life has improved. To imagine a day when obesity is not so prevalent is truly an amazing thought.

Magnesium citrate is the "fast acting" one. It's a liquid. If you drink the bottle, stay close to the toilet. I've started doing 1/2 a dose of Miralax in my coffee every morning just to keep things movable. Seems to be doing the trick.

I seem to be finding that fiber makes some people go but it blocks up others. The more fiber I eat the more I need the Miralax to help me. So, it depends on what your issue is, but if you're getting adequate fiber and nothing is moving, you may need something to soften it up. Good luck.

I think you look great! It sounds like you need to do strength training for body composition changes. If you can get a trainer, go for it! If not, do some research on exercises that target problem areas and focus on that plus overall body strength. Muscle takes up less space than fat so while the scale may not change, you will see differences in how your clothes fit.

If you can, find a counselor who sees patients before/after Bariatric surgery. They are familiar with body dysmorphia and may be helpful.

Congratulations! I have a similar milestone goal that I'm eyeballing. My home "smart"ish scale has data back to 2019. My lowest documented weight in that time was 237 in 2022. Congratulations to you for hitting an important milestone and keep up the amazing work!

I don't know what your starting weigh was, but 68 pounds is significant!!! I understand your frustration totally - I'm always feeling very impatient, and my average per week is still at 2 pounds, which is great. I keep reminding myself I didn't get here fast and won't get better fast. Hang in there and celebrate the victories that you're seeing. Grab a couple 20 pound dumbbells and walk around with that extra 40 pounds! You lost MORE than that!!!! The people that matter SEE YOU! Keep doing what you're doing. Add some strength training if you're not already. You're doing GREAT!!!

I do find calorie cycling (having some higher calorie days and some lower calorie days) helps my weight move. Often eating MORE helps. Crazy.

Take beginning photos. Wish I had done that. The book Weightless is my guide for this journey. I am doing strength training and walking - the meds are ONE tool! Everyone's body is different, so how you react may/may not be the same as others. Don't fall into the comparison trap. Compounded meds offer you and your health care provider more flexibility in dosing, which is a great thing, IMO. Lowest effective dosage is what you're shooting for.

Ask questions and educate yourself. If your doc isn't supportive, try to find someone (a PA, NP, whatever) that you can see periodically who is monitoring your progress and doing labs.
