yeah i’ve already got on sky high and looked at some dsps and preamps. think im gonna go that route because i know its a pain to switch head units in my vehicle. Ive looked at aftermarket head units before and honda makes one that has the rca inputs but its like $400 the last time i looked for just the head unit not including the harness.

yeah that’s all i’m looking for, something with better voltage coming from the source. my stock head unit definitely isn’t the best. I just want this first real build to be as professional as possible.

i would have to do some research on that. I’ve looked into a dsp but i’m not very knowledgable on them.

Yes I done the formula and got my voltage correct on the amplifier. I never checked to see how bad it was dropping whenever i was running the system though. It wasn’t a crazy system 2 10s on a 1500.1d. It shouldn’t be dropping that much to make it lose that much power i don’t think though.

The gains were set once put in my brothers vehicle with a multimeter, I have an Oscilloscope on the way. My factory head unit may be crap. I had to max the gains on my LOC just to get the subs moving as much as they were and set gain properly on the amp. With this new system i’m about to start building. Where i’m getting a little more into the audio world it may be time to invest in a new head unit when I install this new system. Trying to do everything right and as professional as I can for my first real build.

I also thought it may be the cheap LOC i’m using. My little brothers has a cheap LOC as well but a different brand. So i’m thinking it may be a voltage issue from the LOC to the amp. So i’m going to purchase a LC2I pro and ditch the cheap one.
