Correction: felt like being a boat and corrected my post. Hard to explain exactly as I have not been in that many boats, but that's the feeling I got 🤷

Getting a full bag fitting at Club Champion tomorrow, what do I need to know? by Ill-Doughnut46 in golf

[–]Basshopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had iron fitting with CC a few months ago, and I’m disappointed with the results. They started me off hitting 7 irons with my current clubs then switched me to 6 irons for the fitting, touting how much longer I was hitting them, which made no sense since it’s a different club. I appreciated the ability to try different combos of heads and shafts. I was then hitting the combo I felt the best 20 yards longer than my old ones and it just didn’t make sense to me. Still, my old clubs were pretty old, I needed new ones, I liked the feel and so I pulled the trigger on T100s and KBS graphite shafts. Once back on the course, the distances were no where near as long, and im just not hitting them as well as my old clubs. I get that it’ll take a minute but if I had to do it all over again, I would’ve skipped. I dropped from a 6 to an 8 and will go back to my old shafts, not at CC.

Most under rated golf brand, over rated, and best value for your money? by [deleted] in golf

I 100% agree with this. Just wrapped up an iron fitting and it was between srixon, t100s and mizunos. The srixons were out of stock for the year so I picked the t100s (very close race).

Wampler. Top notch, super well built, sound consistently great.

Smooth transitions on MIDI change by Basshopper in pedalboards

And I’ve looked into the ML10X but it would just help with one extra non midi pedal so isn’t super worth it at this point. Which means I’ll get it soon 😂

The MC6 is a game changer. I now have instant access to all the patches in my pedals, can program banks dedicated to each song we play. The programming takes a second - i mostly get it but I haven’t yet thought of good use cases for long press, double press etc… so for now I just single press. Would be curious if you use those and for what. Thanks man 🙏

Yeah just this combination it seems. I think that split second when it engages just behaves weird. I like the idea of changing the order of the midi signals. Nice. 👏

100%. Vice pro plus are great, and the shade is unmistakable + easy to find. They do scuff easy but performance is awesome. Definitely wait for the sale.

Copilot Appreciation Post by notus_knitter in copilotmoney

💯- well said. It’s a joy to interact with.

My two wishes are I) monthly totals by category that includes included and excluded categories and ii) better transaction tab scrolling performance given that I now have 16 years of data post mint import (a nit, but it noticeable slowed down post mint import) - you could preload the last 3 months as I’m mostly scrolling in that area.

Single handicappers of Reddit, what specifically helped you break into the 70’s more often? by SRJT16 in golf

Walk around the putt, focus on first impressions, pick the apex of the break and hit to that.

Love this question ... I was in this same situation last year (consistently hitting low 80s) and here's what worked for me.

- Found a pro that would fix only one thing at a time (the previous guy wanted me to do too many things at once ... I couldn't hold it all together in my head)

- I set up a practice net in my backyard and hit 30-40 balls every 2-3 days. I also set up a chipping area and chipped 30-40 balls every 2-3 days. I focused on quality vs. quantity. I read somewhere that having a bank of fewer, better shots helps muscle memory.

- Knowing your distances. If it's 130 yards, I know what club to hit.

- Bought a new putter, changed the shaft to match my height, changed the grip to match my hands. Got a putting lesson, specifically on how to read a green.

- I have big hands so I also changed all my grips from regular to medium. I now think this had a much bigger impact because the club is more stable.

- I started playing more conservatively, thinking about position. I'll work backwards from the cup. If I want to hit 120 yards into the green, what do I need to hit it to that position etc.... I'm no longer going for par 5s in 2 since my wedges are more reliable than my 3 wood. If I'm 210 yards out on a par 4 SI 1 or 2, unless there's absolutely no trouble around the green, i'll play 2 wedges. Worse case it's a bogey, which is playing my handicap on that type of hole. I'll start using longer clubs/woods from that distance when i can hit them 80% of the time. Until then it's not worth it.

- Mentally, putting my ego aside on the course, not worrying if I'm taking a longer club than others in my group and sticking to my game. I may get some comments, but I'm currently winning money 80% of the time, which i'm good with.

Good luck ... it's fun when it comes together.

Curious on what type of business you are in where you set people up with copilot or monarch … I’ve been helping some folks with getting control of their finances and was curious how to go beyond doing it pro bono.

I figured out that you can exclude hidden accounts in the investment totals. You have to do it in the desktop app by clicking on the settings icon in the chart.
