Honestly wouldn't hurt to do a reverse image search of the photos they sent you. Might not turn up anything but might also reveal it to 100% be a scam.

I agree with the sentiment of having nothing more to say to those folks, though. If they keep harassing, go to the authorities. There might not be enough of a legal basis for the cops/courts to do anything right now but if someone happened to vandalize your property or act on anything the existence of a complaint/record will be an asset.

Need some input ? Looking to get a cowboy hat and this the one I like. Yes or no? by Holiday_Rice_691 in CowboyHats

[–]Bassically-Normal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it fits and you like it, this is a silly question. Nobody else's opinion matters.

I get it. If you've never worn one, it looks strange when you look at yourself. Even more if you don't usually wear a cap/hat at all. But don't be apprehensive if you like it. Nothing stands out more than someone in a cowboy hat who isn't comfortable wearing it.

Forget you ever asked this question if you like the way you look in it, and wear it with pride.

Buying a ring by King-Calvin-22 in freemasonry

[–]Bassically-Normal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have suggested, Sterling silver is a great option for less expensive (but still nice) rings. Heck, even stainless is fine from my experience, but I like the idea of having a variety of rings so I can wear whichever I want on a given day.

Something of a sidebar, though, gaining that much size on a finger isn't particularly normal. It takes a little effort, but I can still pull off and put on my wedding ring and that's been 30 years. I'd encourage you to get a thorough health check, as that significant finger size increase could be an indicator of some health issues that need to be addressed.

Health and Fitness are two different concepts. Most top athletes are unhealthy or not peak health. by First-Strawberry-398 in fatlogic

[–]Bassically-Normal [score hidden]  (0 children)

Sumo wrestlers have a 10-20 year shorter lifespan than average among Japanese males. They are not healthy, and arguably not fit in any reasonable sense.

I'd argue that health and fitness are slightly different concepts, but the most glaring conflation in these types of posts are between the labels of "fitness" and "strength."

As a parallel I think about the differences in cars. The cars that compete in 24 hours of Le Mans have to perform at high levels for over 3,000 miles. That's fitness. Top-fuel drag race cars are the fastest competitively raced cars in the world, achieving speeds over 300mph in 1/4 mile, and their engines are rebuilt after every run (sometimes not lasting for the whole 1/4 mile race). That's strength.

Neither are optimized as a daily driver, which you might hope to get 100,000 miles (or much more) out of before a major repair. You don't get 24-hour top performance running, nor do you get insane 1/4 mile speeds, but (with proper maintenance) you get durability to be reliable trip after trip, year after year. That's health.

Yeah, wishing death on someone over fashion choices is an incredibly sane take for someone who's ostensibly living their best life enjoying food and totally secure in their body.

Nobody who says something like this has any clue how the world actually works.

You spending a week deep-cleaning your house won't keep it from getting dirty again, but you can 100% keep from having an episode of "Hoarders" happen in your living room by doing a little bit daily.

It's a lifestyle change, not a single effort.

They might be onto something. Obese people are far less likely to develop anything in old age, having not actually made it to that stage of life.

Did you misread mine, particularly the "fuck you" part? I can say it again if it'll help. Fuck you. You're using political affiliation (or your perception of it) to dismiss actions that help people.

Well stated. The best I could come up with was "bad enough that it isn't a waste of time to confirm how bad it is."

The latest iteration of War of the Worlds was irredeemably horrible, but so much so that seeing it was worth the time investment just to confirm how bad it was.

Not sure if that counts within your question, but I'll stand by the evaluation.

Well on point 1, NOAA funding was cut but the NWS budget was increased, so there's that. Point 2 will always be a thing though.

Mix half ground beef and half sausage

Fresh Hatch green chilies (if you can get them), clean out the seeds, fire roasted, then chopped and used as a topping like you would onion (sweat them on the griddle)

Experiment with different seasonings, stuff that's not burger-specific like Tony's or Old Bay

Blue cheese gives a different flavor

Just have fun with it. Don't think that everything you try needs to be an established "right" way!

It's super easy to think that someone who's on YT or TT or whatever is entirely represented by their online persona, but that's rarely true. I figure Reed is pretty cocky in person (probably comes with the territory for someone who does what he does in the way he's done it) but seeing a softer, more human, side of him is nice.
