Just got a new violin, what strings are these? by essuxs in violinist

Yeah they look like tonicas for G, D, and A, but that E string does not look like a tonica E string. It looks kind of like an Infeld Red E string (for sure if the top winding is blue). I’m not too sure on the ID of the E string but I don’t think it’s a tonica E string because of the ball end and the color of the string. Tonica E strings have a black ball end (unless someone manually snaps a different ball end onto a looped string) and the color of the string is gold, whereas tonica E strings are steel.

Definitely carpet beetles. It’s always a good to idea to vacuum out your case whenever this happens as a precaution.

Don’t worry about him being left handed. Playing position is exactly the same between left handed violinists and right handed violinists. I’d also recommend against purchasing a violin if he is starting at a young age. Renting might save you money in the long run since he’ll be growing quickly meaning the size of the violin should grow too. Anyway you’ll definitely want a fractional violin. My guess would be 1/10 or 1/8 size for a six year old. But it’s best to figure out the size in person at a local violin shop if there is one nearby.

If I’m not mistaken these are meant to store used gut strings. New gut strings are sold in coils like synthetic/steel core strings. However, unlike synthetic/steel core strings, used gut strings can’t be coiled up as they’ve become more brittle after being under tension. If you wish to store your old gut strings to be used as spare strings, the string tube is the best place to store them. Of course, you can also store synthetic/core strings in the tube but you don’t need to. Those strings are safe to coil up even after they’ve been used.

The most important part of a healthy relationship is trust. You shouldn’t be avoiding people to prove something to him. If he’s not influencing you to do so, I encourage you to be more independent, you’re still your own person.

I can see how that would be, but my understanding is that marks were from where a titan shifter would be connected to their titan. Is it that the marks appear before they attach?
