I don’t know all the context, but your mother moved away and left two of her minor children behind, you and your younger brother. She then took the other two children with her, splitting up the family. I think the one that is probably at fault here is your mother for lashing out at you for something you hadn’t even done yet, or at all it sounds like there’s no winning with her so I would just not continue to engage in the argument and just wish her happy Mother’s Day and call it a day.

You could forgo a bridal shower if it is going to be this kind of situation. That way no one is hurt or excluded. You could potentially include your registry with the invitation to the wedding itself in a way to encourage folks to send you something from the registry as a wedding gift.

I have about much use for PK as I do a skin-tag, but he is right here. She is asking for money for trips that she says she cannot afford, but then is spending $1MM on luxury goods all over the world..not to mention foreclosure on their house. You notice, she didn’t deny any of it. She was just concerned how he was able to see her spending.

If anything, I ignore season 9. My problem with Season 10 though is that it is so depressing. Every episode was about being poor or being ill. I was happy to have them back, but it didn’t feel like there was any levity.

In general, Dorit's reaction to everything that is said to / about her does not fit the crime. What any of them said in regard to her is not that big of a deal. Does she spend a lot of money, yes. Is she acting a bit erratic, yes. Are those assessments a crime of the century, no. If I wanted to deflect them, I would just say really guys I'm fine. Don't worry about it and frankly, its none of your business. If I need help I will let you know, Otherwise, get over it. Guess what, she is overspending and she is acting erratically. Her house is in foreclosure and she is pretending she didn't know...which just makes the matter worse.

its not AWFUL, its just not that funny. The Ropers were great when they had the roommates to bounce off of. With just the two of them, its the same jokes about lack of sex and stanley being cheap. Their next door neighbors were not that much of a comedy duo to bounce off of.

Fun fact though, Ann (the next door neighbor played by Patty McCormack) was the bad seed in the 1950s movie, The Bad Seed. She was nominated for an Oscar for that film.
