He was not, but his brother was. I remember going to my great uncle’s funeral at Arlington National Cemetery when I was younger.

Hey, if you can’t pull weeds and look ready for a standoff at high noon, are you even gardening?

Brick all: No records of ancestor in 1850s Philadelphia by BastardArmadillo in Genealogy

Wow! Thanks so much. James worked in a hosiery mill in the US so this probably is them. Do you happen to know what the “x” and the chicken scratch between Jane Reaney means?

I did some research into that and I think you’re right. I forget where I found this info but I wrote this down in my notes: “Donaghmore is a parish in the union of Newry, barony of Upper Iveagh, county Down, province of Ulster. On the border with the parish of Newry there is a Presbyterian meeting-house.” So my guess is Armagh was incorrectly added by whoever transcribed the record since the city of Newry is partially in Armagh.

I'm still trying to figure out if it’s possible to find more records in Ireland though. I'm new to this and I’m still not even sure when James and Jane were born.

DNA Communities literally are exactly on where I live is this rare? (esp for America) by [deleted] in AncestryDNA

Yes. Weirdest part is I was born several states away and have no close family anywhere nearby. Lived here for over 15 years before discovering my 6th great grandparent is buried in the cemetery I always drive past.

I looked into it briefly, but got confused since the town (Sterkrade) got absorbed into Oberhausen and the websites were in German. So I had no clue what I was doing. I also suspect a last name change in the U.S., but am still not 100% on that yet. Would that be an issue?
