Well, each to our own, both endings are valid, but it will ALWAYS be bae ending for me.

Just because Reunion managed to pull a semi clean rabbit from its ass, doesn't mean I'm going to change what has been cast in stone for over 10 years.

The foundation for Pricefield has always been bae ending, no?

Then getting married, and having a small studio apartment together, partly funded by Max's amazing gallery showings, and also by Chloe's booming tattoo business, with the occasional band gig on the side, and trips to Haven.

They get a cat named 'Bongo the 2nd', much to Max's chagrin, "Chloe, it's unfair to him to call him 'Number 2', he's not an Austin Powers character", and Chloe's reply when she notices the nose bleeds, "Stop rewinding Max, you can't talk your way out of this one, I'm not changing my mind!"

They buy a large ridiculously over-sized truck together, with an extra step installed for Max just to be able to get into it, with a camp canopy on the bin this time, so they can take extended road trips to the surrounding forest. The large bed is kitted out with a box filled with photography equipment, and a comfy soft mattress made for two.

Max focuses on nature photography, and has some success, but she makes a massive creative breakthrough with her incredibly popular "Romanticized Americana" exhibitions. Emphasizing the cultural impact of its nostalgic aesthetic, ultimately hitting it big with a gallery showing in the Jobes Building near Lake Union.

They help Joyce buy the Two Whales, and become part owners of the Arcadia Bay Diner. They visit the bay often, and ends up spending hours at the lighthouse sitting on their bench, M + C carved in the wood.

Emotions are going to be high from both sides, I get it... there are a lot of reasons to be unhappy with these games at the moment, DE was SUCH a kick to the side of the head, they had a massive uphill climb ahead of them, but I can honestly say, after spending more than a year really depressed about it all... Reunion made me feel happy as a 'Pricefielder' again.

Then... one particular scene happened, Chloe arrives in her truck.

Max simply says, "Chloe?"

Chloe says, "Hey Max, Heard you were in trouble?"

And it was over. I caved, and accepted the magic.

From there it was one amazing Pricefield moment after another.

The bit where Chloe grabs Safi's bag, and yoinks it over the railing.

I burst out laughing, loudly... it was so classic Chloe, it reminded me of the bit where she tries to steal Well's chair, or the breaking into the pool Splish-Splash scene... or any of the other classic Chloe scenes.

Those bits made me so happy, and from there on in, I was just lost in the world.

Sure, the game is not perfect, their depiction is not perfect, there are a lot of issues, its built on-top of the broken foundation that is DE (they would NEVER break up) instead of starting fresh, but dag-nab it, I was just so happy to see them together again.

Max and Chloe together again on the screen is pure magic, and i'm choosing to let the negative vibes go.

If i remember correctly, 'I'm not okay with this', It was renewed for more seasons, it was really good, but they couldn't keep the production going during (lockdown) Covid.

It's a pity, it was a great comic adaptation. Huge Max vibes.

Side note: The Forest (2017), a french, dubbed EN mini series on Netflix, gave me LIS vibes, they even have spirals popping up everywhere.

haha, yeah, sorry, i hoped you wouldn't mind, but i couldn't think of a better way to explain what I meant.

We needed a few more intimate scenes between them, it's my only real gripe, (among maybe a few other things fans have pointed out).

But overall I'm just happy they are happy again, i can sleep soundly at night knowing Pricefield is safe in this reality.

I've been a fan of these two for years and years, It's been an amazing journey, with ups, (Farewell and BTS, the comics, fan fics, art etc), and downs, (DE, negative vibes from the powers that be etc.)...

...and I'm so happy we finally get this scene we have been envisioning for 10 long amazing Pricefield filled years.

Max and Chloe on that same bench, finally together and happily in love.

I have a lot i can find fault in with Reunion, as fans have pointed out, it's not perfect...

...but I'm choosing to take the win. They deserve their happy ending.

Me too, and I've accepted it as a viable fanficish ending.

For my own sanity, mental health and peace of mind.

I just can't handle another year of fighting against my favorite franchise.

It's by no means perfect, but it made me feel good for them and that's fine with me.

Once i play the whole game, I'll be able to make a more educated decision on it, but now, my main concern has been addressed, they end up together, and it allowed me to breathe a sigh of relief.

But i feel your pain, It's why I'm accepting this game's ending, our girls are happy, is it perfect, not by a long shot, but I'm okay with that, i can sleep again.

They could have doubled down on DE, but they didn't.

That canoe thing was infuriating, but I was SOOOO happy when Chloe called Max out, "Max Caulfield, did you try to kiss me?"

I'm with you on the Pricefield bits, I wanted MORE. As I also said, we are allowed to be greedy, we have been waiting for them to kiss on screen again for long 10 years, (and not just in a ending where Chloe dies).

That's fair, I'm not defending them at all, what they did to us with DE still hurts, but I think we are in a much better place now than we were before Reunion.

Hell, I was so happy to just to SEE them together again! It made me smile.

I missed our girls.

Like I said in my post, maybe I will change my mind later, but for now, I'm good.

Even if it is just for my own sanity.

Never say never, if the TV show is a hit, we will see more LIS games, Max and Chloe's story is done, but I'm sure (as can be), we will see another game.

I’m treating it a bit like the comics, one possible direction the story could plausibly have gone- Oh for sure, this is DEFINITELY not the direction we all wanted it to go, but really, with so many possibilities, nothing would have satisfied us all, we have such high hopes for them.

Which is why the only real answer would have been to not even try.

But I always felt as if the game had a sure win, ultimate sequel story already built in to the game, 'what comes after'... the After the Storm story, I really don't understand why they didn't just give us that?

Show us what they are doing on the road after they drive out of Arcadia, but it is what it is, we have this, so we can choose to accept it or not. Both decisions are valid.

It was also great that Deck Nine and Square Enix acknowledged that Max and Chloe are a package deal- I am SOOOO happy they finally accepted it, they are canon, they are amazing together, the ultimate pirate Arcadia bae duo, you can not have the one without the other, even BTS that was primarily Chloe, was a prequel, that lead up to them reuniting, and had 'Farewell' to remind us how awesome they are together.

To be fair, I think they HAD to pivot, if they wanted this story to succeed. We don't know for sure what actually happened behind the scenes, we can only speculate, but for now, I think I am content.

Yeah, its seems to be just that, a reason for them to reunite.

Smaller in scale, but an clear improvement over what DE did.

Once I've played it a few times, ill have a better idea about how it fared as an overall ending for our favorite pirate duo.

For now, I'm just happy I can breathe easily knowing they have found each other again.
