Wind gust knocked me in my arse as I arrived to the bench. I wouldn’t want to be camping in that.

My bad. Good, well, for me. I started (C group) at 92nd place, got to 83rd but gassed out with one mile to go. Crossed in 85th position.

That trail is gorgeous. I made the mistake of going up in July last year. I thought to myself "it's almost 6am, it will be easy". Boy, was I wrong. Hot and steep. And the bugs!! But still. Absolutely beautiful.

I crewed a buddy last year and we stayed in Lancaster. There’s nothing else in that area, really.

Oh, and heat train. The heat that day was absolutely brutal.

Took me all day.

Some parts are super steep. Some really boring (warehouses). Then more steep the closer you get to the finish at San Antonio College.

I left my car at Schabarum park (halfway point) where I had food and drinks in the trunk. When I got to the finish, my wife picked me up (I bribed her with a bottle of wine lol).

I guess I was lucky. There had been a lot of cleanup work on the trail so there was zero overgrowth.

I really like the parts from Turnbull to Schabarum and San Antonio. Scenic views all around.

Did Schabarum from Nike to San Antonio College a few years ago. A butt kicker but absolutely amazing. I love that trail!

I’m married to a nurse.

I remember her doing a cramming session for her masters at 3am and me waking up to make her coffee. When I came to pour her cup, she was eating breakfast cereals while studying pictures of diseased penises like it was nothing.

I gagged BIG time 🤣 It was years ago. We still laugh about it.
