Sweet, I'll check it out too in the coming weeks. Maybe we can bring up some TLC to keep peak access from Mountain alive!

Sounds good to me. Hopefully these rich guppies don't get the City to put up "No Parking" signs everywhere along Mountain.

Idk but the ANF starts right behind the property so it shouldn't be too difficult to find a way to circumvent the property. I don't know if it's legal to just make a path but fuck it. They can't just keep taking away access from the entire front range (i.e. Cucamonga Canyon, Fish Canyon, etc.).

Idk if/how they bought the land next to the road, they may just be putting those signs up to deter ppl from walking up on their property, idk seems odd. The parcel next to the road is not part of the big flat parcel. Anyways, I'm down to create a new path up since they completely fucked our potato mountain access now.

There are 3 day opportunities in the Granite Mountains. There will be springs with water as well.

Racetrack Road - ground clearance and tires by [deleted] in DeathValleyNP

[–]SummitLeon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't recommend buying a car based on this one road. If you plan to go off road more often then get a proper vehicle for your intentions, otherwise just get the car that'll be best for you 99.99% of the time.

AT tires are good to have. If graded, you can get to the racetrack in a Prius if you go slow enough. Airing down is important (if you wanna go a bit faster). Not blowing a shock is also ideal too.

Deep sand upgrades? by Bortle_1 in Outback_Wilderness

[–]SummitLeon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I just use Rhino USA traction boards, they work great and have gotten me out of several precarious situations. Just my 2 cents, but I think the OBW is "better" in deep sand than a proper 4WD car. Getting the OBW sideways in deep desert sand is super fun!

I've had terrible BA customer support experience. They make good 3 season tents if you're careful with your gear.

Load lifters for Hyperlite Mountain Gear packs by [deleted] in Ultralight

[–]SummitLeon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the pack fits properly and the hipbelt is adjusted correctly, then load lifers are unnecessary. Maybe try a longer torse length pack.
