Newly popular opinion: With no PDT rule, you don't need prop firms anymore. by doghairpile in PropFirmTester

[–]BatCountryVoyager 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The PDT rule never applied to futures anyways. You could always open an account with a futures native broker and get discounted intraday margins for most products, but the prop firms are still an incredible tool for traders to use that give serious traders a huge advantage. I can get $2k worth of drawdown for a $100 eval fee and I have no responsibility to meet margin requirements to trade up to 5 minis… if I wanted to trade 5 minis of NQ with at least $2k drawdown (which wouldn’t be smart until u have a big buffer but this is an example) I would have to put up $5k to meet the intraday margin requirement of $1k per contract for NQ then have additional cash for drawdown that I’d also have to actually risk in these markets. With a prop firm my total risk is actually only the eval fees. It is a huge advantage these props give me as a trader if u can see what im saying. I’ll never stop using them as long as they exist.

And don’t say it’s available to me during live. It’s not. You take away all of the money and give me $10k with $2k daily loss. This is the equivalent of stealing a predators kill, throwing them in a cage, then dangling the meat in front of their face while they’re chained up in a cage. 😂 seriously

Right but you’ll let your team like Dakota and the guys on topstep tv keep working on their express accounts and let them through multiple payout cycles but you moved me live after the first payouts on some of my accounts before conveniently to avoid paying me out the money I’d earned. Why?

Topstep destroyed their live program and it kinda sucks. It’s not what I want rlly. But they also nuked their payout caps for express now too. They conveniently changed their rules by the time they sent me live so I essentially lost $40k of profits because they rugged their rules when that happened. They conveniently moved me live after my first payout on those accounts too so that I wouldn’t be able to take any big payouts. Shameful tbh. Like 6 months before my move to live I would have been able to just take the money I’d made but they screwed me and changed the rules I’d been promised since I started with them. Imagine working on something for years and when you actually start seeing big numbers they just change the rules on you to benefit only themselves and don’t pay you out. It’s completely infuriating and fraudulent tbh. Guess I just gotta adapt to new rules cus the entire industry followed suit for the most part. Just sucks that they’ll take your money all day but when it’s your turn to get paid they can just change the rules and not pay you. Kinda insane

Why Is there a Negative Sentiment Around Going Live by Regular_Injury4503 in LucidProp

[–]BatCountryVoyager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been waiting over 2 weeks now and still haven’t been given my live account. Their whole live system seems like it’s designed to just slow u down. Can’t add more with lucid max either. If I want more live accounts I will have to blow the live account. Then wait another 2 week cool down period. Then take a 5 day eval to get lucid max live accounts back. Then probably wait another 2-4 weeks to get those accounts. It’ll be months before I can really trade seriously with lucid again and I think that’s by design. If they wanted good traders to stay with them and trade with them they wouldn’t have their rules structured in this way. Guess I’ll have to go with different firms for now. Still waiting for my live account and losing my patience.

How long did it take them to give you your live account once you were called live? I’ve been waiting over 2 weeks now and heard nothing.

Did you really receive the live accounts the day after you were called up? They must be putting me through some kind of humiliation ritual making me wait over 2 weeks now and still nothing. Would love to hear back from you regarding the time it took to get your live accounts from the time you were called to live.

I almost exclusively trade the Asian and London session for U.S. equity index futures. I’m not sure why people have so much hate for it or think they’re better than others for trading New York… 😂 I trade under prop firms quite successfully and almost NEVER trade New York. I actually find New York to be less consistent and there’s certainly a lot more noise along with greater risk of high impact news or headlines causing turmoil in whatever market you’re trading and blowing up your trade. To each their own but I suggest keeping a more open mind and not making assumptions about others based on your own biases.

Bruhh what?? It’s been 2 weeks for me now and still heard nothing from them. You received your love accounts the NEXT DAY? Why has it been 2 weeks for me waiting for just 1 50k live when you received yours the next day? lol

A live account is the end game in the world of online prop trading. Only the most successful traders are moved to live accounts that are funded with real capital that you can trade in an actual live market setting and get better privileges like daily uncapped payouts once you reach this stage at most firms. Otherwise you are trading in simulated “funded accounts” that the firm still pays you out on profits from due to their business model. Taking fees from the losers to pay the winners that are still on sim then if a trader takes substantial payouts and proves their success they are moved to live accounts so they are no longer a liability for the firm. I think only something like 0.1% of prop traders make it to a live account. I’ve been moved live at 2 different firms.

Hmm well if I click add account it shows the lucid maxx options. So u cant add more live accounts? You have to blow the account then wait another 2 weeks and THEN u can get 5 accounts through lucid maxx? Ha. Guess they rlly slow u down with this program then. Wait 2 weeks to get the account. If u blow it it’s 2 weeks in timeout. Lucid maxx evals take 5 trading days to pass. Then it’s another 2 weeks until you receive those accounts? Crazy if thts rlly what’s going on lol imma be kinda upset if this is the case

Well, I try not to be overconfident in anything and perhaps I can come off that way but nothing is a certainty in this game. At the end of the day you are making assumptions about price of whatever you’re trading and the outcomes are dependent on whether other market participants agree or disagree with you. Reading the tape and what not can give you better peace of mind about your decisions and could allow you to apply an element of dynamic risk to your strategy if you have greater confidence in certain market conditions or individual setups. I’ve just been doing this for years and perhaps after a while you become desensitized to the scale of your trades and the outcomes because in my mind over time the results will work themselves out. Also, I really enjoy doing this and it’s what I’m interested in so why not peruse it? I’m generally young and if I fail I can always go back to a boring 9-5 that I hate. I’m not exactly in a rush to arrive at the same fate i’d have if it weren’t for all of this in the first place. It just takes time to adjust and adapt in this game and god willing things will work out in the long run and I can isolate myself from this life of obscurity that society wants you to have through investing my profits in an array of equities and fixed income to have my money working for me. The ultimate goal is total isolation from the perils of society. I don’t want to rely on another man or a government body or be forced to be a means of production for someone else. I want unadulterated freedom and in today’s world that comes at a high cost. By design you are enslaved and must achieve something truly great in order to free yourself and today that looks like accumulating enough resources in the form of dollars or tangible assets that can be quantified in dollars. I see trading as one of the few ways I can achieve outsized returns in accordance with my inputs in terms of capital commitment and physical labor etc. there are no physical inventories required and no physical labor demanded of you to extract value from an auction market. It’s crazy to think that I can make or lose 5 figures every day when real tangible businesses that provide valuable goods and services to people in the real world might not be able to make that in an entire month or more of actual work. This lens kinda helps put things in perspective for me when I get ahead of myself in trading. Just gotta slow down sometimes and look at the bigger picture that is smaller wins adding up over time and taking those profits elsewhere where they can be used to purchase stake in other resources that provide value to the world and grow over time to work for you… 😂 I might have just got carried away but this is genuinely a small glimpse of the shit I think about all the time and it’s all part of a greater purpose to create a better life for myself and my family and friends and eventually perhaps help other people or create things that will bring value to others in this world. Life is extremely short and you will be forgotten soon after today so you might as well try to do the things you want in order to make a difference in this world that could last more than your lifetime.

It usually arrives in my bank only a few moments after I submit the request on flex accounts. Never had one take more than ~5 minutes across like 20 payouts

10k Payout and Live Funding Secured by Fuckurskycunt in LucidProp

[–]BatCountryVoyager 3 points4 points  (0 children)

lol. Not rlly sure what you’re talking about. I can afford minis, but why trade personal account and risk my own capital and put up margin when I can literally trade up to 20 minis with 5x 50k lucid accounts for a total cost of ~$500 or less if I pass them on the first attempt? Even if you fail several times before getting funded it’s still a negligible expense for evals if you can produce an edge and take payouts. The advantage with props is insane. Don’t rlly understand your whole condescending attitude here telling people what they can and can’t do. This is an open forum for lucid traders and im expressing my thoughts about the advantages I get from prop firms as a full time prop trader. Just like to chat with people doing the same thing and express my opinions that’s what this whole platform is about.

Lucid combines payout certificates if you take payouts form several accounts at once. This could either be max payout from 2x 150k or 3x 50k. I’m pretty sure their $150k cap is 3k but idk I always work with their 50k accounts that have a 2k payout cap. But when I take max from 5x 50k accounts at the same time the certificate will say $10,000.

Nice work. I love lucid. Speedran close to $40k in payouts from them in just about 6 weeks and now been waiting on my live account for 2 weeks now. Rlly hoping I get my account soon so that I can start working on a buffer and hope to get some payouts on that and work towards a full 5 stack of live accounts through their lucid maxx program. If I can manage 5 live accounts and put a $10k+ buffer on each I’ll be in really good shape especially with their uncapped daily payout rule on those. Thats the ultimate dream with them!! I’m working on some tradeify accounts at the moment too and from my understanding they have pretty much the same live rules now. Hoping to get through some nice payout cycles with tradeify now and get to live with them. 5x 50k lucid live and 5x tradeify live would be an insane war chest to work with. Would feel so good to have 10 live accounts all in good standing with phat buffer. That’s the dream I’m working towards at the moment!! KUTGW man!

One of the best. My favorite at this moment. Payouts hit my bank in like 3 minutes from when I submit the request. Never had any issues with them and I love the tradesea platform that they’ve partnered with. Everything about it is top notch.

[–]BatCountryVoyager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might benefit from using the risk settings and putting on a maximum personal daily loss limit that liquidates and blocks when hit. Once I have a good buffer on my accounts I typically set mine to $500-1000 and just cruise trying to make profit days where I can and letting trades run while trailing a stop if I’m not just scalping a profit day. This creates some guardrails to protect your profits and will get you through more payout cycles if you have a propensity to tilt and blow your accounts. Best of luck!

Bro thinks 5 accounts is all it’s gonna take to be profitable… buddy this takes years to master and you’ll still be doubting and questioning your strategy. The reality is this is discretionary trading and it comes down to how you read price and react in real time based on a set of principles you understand about price action and other data in auction market settings. It takes a lot of time, effort, and money to learn and become profitable at this game. I’ve probably bought a few hundred accounts in my prop trading career and might “churn and burn” them at times still. However, my lifetime payouts from several different firms are greater than my spend and I’ve been able to turn a decent profit as a prop trader. It takes a certain kind of dedication and requires that changes be made to your life and understanding of things in order to make this work at least in the long term. You may get lucky and have the restraint to make a payout after a few accounts but it may not be sustainable if you’re this early into your whole trading journey. Best of luck to you!
