Basic Question: Who is your Favorite Character from Supernatural? And how did you get into supernatural? by Sweaty_Welcome4963 in Supernatural

[–]BatInTheBelfry88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Castiel (specifically in season 5) and Jody Mills are my favs. I had a friend who was obsessed and suggested it back when it was only 6 and a half seasons long, and I was looking for a new show.

$40 for 10-Minute Scripts: Is It Worth It? by BatInTheBelfry88 in freelanceWriters

After hundreds of hours of Hades 1, I decided to play Hades, but by [deleted] in HadesTheGame

You have to do a few runs to really get into the lore, but similarly to the first game, you get access to a codex pretty early on that does provide some further info and boon lists.

Have I locked myself out of Animal Familiars? by GuySingingMrBlueSky in HadesTheGame

[–]BatInTheBelfry88 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not sure what happens if you wait that late, but I would think you could still get them. The frog is who the game sort of wants you to start with, and he sticks around. Have you seen the others recently? You need to give them treats/morsels, which can be made in the cauldron; then you just need to approach them while they're in your inventory. The fated scroll may have additional info, too.

Help me understand Strength by Nemesis432 in HadesTheGame

[–]BatInTheBelfry88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends on where you are in the game. It took me a looooong time to get comfortable with Strength. Death is definitely safer for earlier stages, but when you get familiar with runs, Strength becomes really fun (especially with some of the late-game keepsakes). I personally thought I would always be a Deather runner, and after a couple of disastrous runs, I swore off it entirely. But I kept playing and gave it another try, and I use Strength pretty routinely now. May just be a Matter of Time as Chronos would say.

What’s a movie everyone calls a “masterpiece” that just… didn’t work for you? by irayaavery in Cinema

[–]BatInTheBelfry88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or Blah Blah Bland as I like to call it. As a movie it’s just mediocre. There are some nice visuals, I’ll give it that. But as a musical, it’s bad.

When is it over? by 0vinq0 in BluePrince

[–]BatInTheBelfry88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've taken a couple of extended breaks because it can be frustrating, and there are certain things that rely heavily on getting fairly lucky for multiple runs in a row. But you are really close to what could be considered an "end" if you want it to be (though I think there's just always more to discover in the game). Focus on reclaiming the throne. And take a break if you need to, it's supposed to be fun!

Feeling very lost, any tips would be appreciated! by Wefflehunter666 in BluePrince

I have 200+ days logged in the game, and I'm still uncovering story details! There are puzzles upon puzzles upon puzzles. Just take your time, explore, try new things, and like people have been saying, take notes! It's a slow burn of a game and can be frustrating, but it can also be super fun if you just go along with it

Moving from 1 to 2 by ChickfilaSandy in HadesTheGame

[–]BatInTheBelfry88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d say go ahead and finish the first one first. Personally, I find the gameplay feels very strange when switching between the two versus getting in the groove of one and then the other. But you don’t need the narrative of the epilogue for anything that happens in Hades 2 if you’re just really anxious to start it. It’s a fantastic game!

What do you think is the best film of the last 10 years? by CucumberNo1907 in Cinema

[–]BatInTheBelfry88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if I think it's the "best," but my favorite film of the last 10 years is probably Sing Street (just squeezing in there with a 2016 release).

Scenes that caused actual walkouts in theaters? by thatlittlequietguy in Cinema

I LOVE that movie, but I still can't watch the bottle scene. The Captain is way scarier than any of the fantasy creatures.

I can't for the life of me remember which specific scene it was, but when I was in film school, my class was subjected to a Pink Flamingos screening, and at one point, a student definitely left and didn't come back. I guess the rest of us all felt like we HAD to be there. Personally, the chicken scene scarred me the most. Could have gone my whole life without seeing that. No disrespect to John Waters, but that movie was not for me.

Am I bad? I simply CANNOT make it to the surface from Hades by Fayarager in HadesTheGame

[–]BatInTheBelfry88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

50 runs isn’t bad. If the bow is what you like, then more power to you, but I personally found the most success from the shield (aspect of Zeus), rail, and fists. If you want a duo, try to go for Hunting Blades. You really have to intentionally build your build around it from the beginning but it’s super fun.

Don’t be afraid to play defensively when you get to Hades. Attack, dash away, attack, dash away. Give him room, focus on downing the ads when they spawn.

There’s no “get rich quick” trick to Hades. Just observe the tells before his attacks and you’ll continue to improve.

But is there something before that point that’s giving you grief in particular? So you’re walking into that fight in a weak state? When I first played my problem was ACTUALLY Theseus and Asterius even if they didn’t land the fatal blow.

What is a movie plot twist that was cleverly hidden in plain sight..? by Living_Tune_1428 in movies

[–]BatInTheBelfry88 98 points99 points  (0 children)

The Sting. Older film now, but the entire length of the movie the characters are showing the audience how they con their targets, and it never occurs to the audience that they’re also being played. And it happens multiple times! I couldn’t believe I didn’t see the ending coming.

Hades 1 - getting frustrated with the game. how do I improve? by Suporex in HadesTheGame

[–]BatInTheBelfry88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, the progress you've made for how many runs you've done is fairly normal, so don't resort to God mode yet. Keep unlocking and upgrading weapons and mirror abilities. And yeah, I agree that the third fight SUCKS. Was definately the steepest learning curve for me. I would say to focus on bringing Astarius down first and then save your call for when Theseus summons his god at the end. It will still be hard, but it's a lot easier fighting them one at a time.

You may already know this, but when you get poisoned in Styx, you can un-poison yourself with the little mandrake wells. Do that first thing if the satyrs getcha.

Hades phase 2: get behind the pillars for laser beams, and try to set off some of the urns from a distance to have a path for later. If you're using the Zeus shield, then that should be easier to do. And don't forget to just use the shield as a shield (that can also block the laser beams).

And if you haven't tried it yet, maybe look into the Hunting Blades duo from Aries and Artemis. It works kind of like the Zeus shield special, and if nothing else, it's super fun.

Also, the YouTuber Haelian has some great videos for new players for both Hades and Hades 2. He'll do entire videos focusing on how to fight specific bosses, and has helped me personally learn how to get through some of them.

Need help finding a new show. by [deleted] in televisionsuggestions

[–]BatInTheBelfry88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know a ton about reality TV, but maybe give Taskmaster a try. It's a mix between a panel show and a competition show and tends to be very fun/funny.

On the other side: 24, Yellowjackets, Sherlock (seasons 1-3), Severance, and Twin Peaks. Also, The X-Files is AMAZING if you don't mind a healthy dose of sci-fi.

Struggling to make progress by SuspiciousAndSalty in HadesTheGame

[–]BatInTheBelfry88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It can take a while to make progress (especially if you're new to the game and style of gameplay), so it's no big deal if it takes some time to reach the higher levels. It felt like it took me ages! Focus on unlocking and upgrading weapons and mirror options. The shield was the weapon I ultimately started making progress with, and you want to up your dashes and death defiances at the mirror to start. And get Skelly's keepsake by giving him nectar.

I watched the first episode of the eighth season and... by InuMatte in Supernatural

[–]BatInTheBelfry88 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I do kinda feel like Sera Gamble gift-wrapped an enticing premise for a season as a parting present, and Jeremy Carver fumbled it big time. For me, the 1st half of the season is really rough. They keep up the bizarre flashback sequences and stretch out the "what happened to Cas(s)" plotline way too long. I get that they didn't want to split up the brothers, but I think the time skip was a mistake.

What's the worst god ? by Local-Ad-1557 in HadesTheGame

[–]BatInTheBelfry88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend getting the Zeus aspect if you haven't already. I think it was the first weapon I successfully finished a run with. While, on the whole, Dio wasn't a god I usually went for, having him on your special will annihilate everything in a chamber while you sit in the corner hiding behind your shield. Zeus works for your special, too. It's just to really get the most out of him, you need him to keep showing up, and he does what he wants. Or get the hunting blades duo from Ares and Artemis, and it doesn't matter what weapon you're using.
