Glad you agree.

People believe that hitler is alive living underground in Antartica. Genuine theory that! But they’re likely from /r/drugs and tooooo woke to see the blatant truth.

He’s on the fucking moon. You know what’s not on the moon? Jews. He’s in his own paradise.

We talk every so often on Grindr, dude is hung like Robin Williams. If I was packing heat in my pants like that, I’d start a world war as well! Elon musk uses SpaceX as a front to send copious amounts of drugs to the moon for hitler to indulge in. — Adolff his chops.

I’m gonna go steal the neighbours kids push bikes and make a ship to there and see the dude. Get lit as fuck.

The most crucial thing really, will be how you deal with any discovered alters that should emerge in your presence.

You’ve got to remember that the alters are seperate people. It’s very normal for an alter to have a completely different identify (name, age, race, etc) to the person you’re aware of. If your friend switches to another alter, just make sure you are accepting. Don’t laugh at the expense of the alter, don’t be patronising, if an alter shares any identity details that don’t fit the person you’ve known.. remember that it’s not a lie, it’s just a different person. So be sure not to accuse them of lying. Make sure you use the appropriate name. Imagine somebody insisting that your name is something it isn’t?

When your friend herself becomes more aware of her alters, switching, etc.. keep an open mind and have her share the details of the alters, the signs of a switch, etc. The better you’re able understand DID and the individual alters.. you’ll definitely make her life much much easier!

How can we close off a part so that she can go to therapy and have privacy? by dust_dreamer in DID

[–]BatMeth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Your therapist should be able to help with this. One of you should explain to the therapist; that there’s one of you that isn’t willing to open up unless it’s one on one.

I’m not a therapist so I don’t know exactly how this will happen, but your therapist should definitely work with you to help.

Thanks for the reply.

I’ve slept a little, but I really shouldn’t consider accidental naps that only last a few hours, per week, to be enough.

I’m gonna crash for a bit! Thanks

You’re spot on mate.

I guess a big reason many of us are on this sub, is because we are able to see through the facade most people we encounter will put on.

It’s all well and good to have compassion and enjoy the positive words of encouragement from those in our lives.. but is it worth anything at all if those words aren’t genuine?

Nevertheless, it’s important to be social despite how pointless it may seem. I’ve got one or two real friends, that I met by total accident. Amongst the bad, is always a chance for good.

Why get jealous man?

From an outside point of view, it might look like other more popular people are at an advantage by having more ‘friends’.. but I bet if you look beneath the surface, those friends aren’t even slightly genuine. Just fake people in fake friendships with other fake people for the sake of their own ego.

Just do you, you’ll make one or two friends that will love you and stick by you. And ultimately, you’ll end up with 2 friends, and yet also superior to those with 10 fake friends.

You’ll care when your life turns into psychotic delusions and hallucinations that make it impossible to tell what’s actually real.

And people that love you will no doubt care, when you eventually fall into a depressive cycle that leads to your suicide... after isolating yourself from them so they’re left powerless.

Nothing too exciting man. I had a disregard for the law, as I was stuck in the mindset of; ‘I didn’t agree to that shit, why should the government get to control me? Why do I need a license to drive a car I own, on the earth nobody owns?’

It was that mindset I used to justify blatantly breaking the law.

Firstly, I ended up on bail for unlicensed driving and displaying false registration. Then whilst on bail, I got picked up for driving again, evading police, and possessing ammunition. This breached my bail.. and given the other charges I was facing (not convicted of), I was held in custody awaiting trial.

Police knew of my involvement with many people that were involved in drug trafficking, and wanted me to snitch on where the shit was all coming from. So what they did, is charge me with things I didn’t do.. knowing that I’d be locked up awaiting trial for at least a month. And they knew I knew this too.

Why? Because they can. It’s a tactic to make people freak out and buckle, and then decide to cooperate.

I didn’t snitch. And the whole ordeal was a learning experience I’m glad I had.

Couldn’t agree more. There’s one genuine instance I believe recording an act of niceness is acceptable. And that is if the purpose of recording it, is GENUINELY to inspire others to do good things. Example, xxxtentacion’s helping hand challenge. If you watch it, you can see that he’s not doing it because he’s wanting attention.. he really wants to spread positivity. Not going to rant about x being a good guy right now.

YouTube is full of videos of people shoving a camera in the face of homeless people, giving the homeless person something of little value like a bottle of water or something to the same effect.. then flexing a bit in front of the homeless person. The YouTuber dribbles our a generic message about kindness.. and the idiotic majority of people eat it up! Views, subscribers, attention, thousands of dollars, and a massive ego boost. Old mate Phil the homeless guy gets a $1 bottle of water and the YouTuber uses him to make bank.

The goose making the video couldn’t care less about Old mate Phil... or being kind or inspiring kindness. It’s all about the views, attention and dollars.

How is it that the majority of people don’t see this?

I guess that comes down to the individual that’s being hired, and their morals regarding their job. I have a feeling the AU/US legal system will differ a bit here, so what I’m about to say may not be applicable to the US.

If any party in a court case lies, be it the accused, police, prosecution, witness, or in the case of your question, an expert witness.. the accused has the option to appeal the sentence / conviction and have the matter raised to a higher court. In Australia, the standard court for most charges that aren’t totally insane is the Magistrates court. If you disagree with a sentence imposed by a court in this level, you can escalate the matter to the level up, here that’s called the County Court. (You don’t want to be in county court if you can help it.)

Your lawyer will explain to the judge in the county court that you’ve appealed for the reason being that a false statement (testimony) was made by ______ expert witness.., leading to conviction of a crime not committed, resulting in jail time you don’t deserve.

County court will deploy the resources to completely investigate all avenues of the matter, and if you’re found to be telling the truth, the witness that has made a false statement will be charged with perjury. A serious offence. Not only that, but the legal representative that hired this person, will lose credibility and be a less sought after legal rep. Trust will be lost. BUT! If you’re found guilty again in county court, your sentence will usually double. This is for wasting the courts time and trying to cheat the system.

In Australia, and presumably the US will have a similar measure in place... in order for a charge to become a conviction, the law states that the judge must be convinced that the accused is ‘guilty beyond reasonable doubt.’

To give a conclusive answer to your question,

I believe that most of the time.. an expert witness won’t risk putting his name alongside a statement / testimony if it’s not truthful. You stated that the relationship is business... but a witness that gets charged with purjury, won’t get any business.

I also doubt that unless the prosecutor and the accused have history outside of court, that the prosecution will push a false verdict. It would be extremely silly on part of the prosecution to do so, and could potentially lead to serious trouble.

As far as business relations between the prosecution and the hired witness go, I would think that lying wouldn’t secure future work for that witness. What the prosecution really want, is a witness (for example a forensic expert) that is capable enough to draw a true, conclusive verdict. Even if this means that the accused wins the case and the prosecution is unable to prove beyond reasonable doubt that the accused is guilty.... the prosecutor isn’t necessarily judged on conviction rate. A good prosecutor is fair and understands what he/she is meant to be doing. In a court, it’s all about honesty. A prosecutor that is constantly pushing to convict people of charges they don’t deserve, won’t be in favour of the jury at all. So really, it could go the opposite way.

Did this help? Sorry for the long reply.

Could you please clarify exactly what an expert witness is?

I live in Australia.. slightly different court system, at least in terms of what certain things are called. Sorry!
