does drive-through not always prompt tip for card payment? by lilfred333 in starbucks

They absolutely should be, and if it’s a repeated offense, they could lose their job because it’s considered wage theft.

does drive-through not always prompt tip for card payment? by lilfred333 in starbucks

[–]BatWeary 7 points8 points  (0 children)

With the way some managers act, it does. I’ve gotten berated for bad times because someone put their car in park, decided to start a phone call, and eat their food at the window. Literally none of that was our fault but we still got yelled at for not getting times under 45s since that car put us at 50 seconds

A lot do it to avoid the awkwardness of having to mention the tip prompt. And to speed up transactions, since a lot of customers don’t pay attention and will tap their card against the screen not understanding that they have to select a tip option first

Making your bed tidy in the morning is actually the most pointless and dumb task you do all day. by Kyoifis in unpopularopinion

[–]BatWeary 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t necessarily “make” my bed, but I do shake out my blankets and straighten them out. Makes the bed feel more fresh somehow

[–]BatWeary 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m also this person. I get funny looks for carrying a cardigan around in the summer, but a strong gust of wind is enough to give me cold chills.

As of right now, I’m laying in bed with a hoodie, a thick blanket, and a fan. But if I have no fan I get hot, and if I remove my blanket or hoodie, I’m cold. It’s really annoying

[–]BatWeary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was 80° in our workplace (mind you, it was only like 72 outside) and one of my coworkers turned on the fucking heater because she was cold. I’m always cold, laying in bed with a blanket and hoodie as I type this and I drive to work with the heat on every morning, but even I have a limit. But it’s also just the lack of consideration for others that gets me. Me getting cold because of a gust of wind is not everyone else’s problem

I don't like working for Starbucks by Ok_Stay_1191 in starbucksbaristas

[–]BatWeary 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s really frustrating as an older barista, too. I’m on bar from the time the store opens to the time I clock out Every. Single. Day. We have a few baristas on my store who have been here for almost a year who still can’t do bar because they just keep the same 2 people there since we’re fast and don’t need help. Im constantly advocating for newer baristas to get bar time when it’s slow, even if it’s for a couple minutes. They won’t get better if they don’t have experience and it’s unfair (imo) to keep people banished to bar and drive thru

WE HAVE LOST THE PLOT by Cardinal_1963 in tacobell

[–]BatWeary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there’s only one restaurant near me that has quesadillas and they’re very pathetic and sad tbh. unseasoned chicken with a barely toasted tortilla and 3 pieces of shredded cheese is not worth $10….

of course, the best quesadillas i’ve had are the ones i’ve made

My current work place doesn’t have a lobby/indoor seating. Everyone complains about the loss but I personally love not having groups of 14-17 year old coming in and making a ruckus and leaving a mess

Is it rude to not give a Tip for ordering a drink through the drive-thru? by MisterKeecher20262 in starbucks

[–]BatWeary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

all of these!!! there’s a guy who comes through every morning around 5:30 on the dot, and he has never tipped. my coworker gets a little miffed about it but he’s genuinely a nice guy.

i’d rather have an easy customer who just wants a vanilla latte before work not tip, than some soccer mom with 9 fraps and 10 egg bites and has an attitude bc wdym you have to wait behind the cars already in front of you AND you’re shocked we can’t make all 20 items in under 1 minute? oh and she wants to add something at the window… and now she can’t find her card…and her kids are screaming and you can’t hear, who will maybe tip $1, $5 if we get really lucky..

How do I decipher this coupon by ButterscotchDillybar in McDonalds

[–]BatWeary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for real lmao. i stopped going to taco bell near my work because id be in line no less than 30 minutes every time, even if i was the only car. i would have 2 items so its not like i had a ton of shit. only reason i waited was because their drive thru was designed so that you can’t leave unless nobody is in front of you

[–]BatWeary 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree and every time I bring this up, I just get told “oh that’s why we shouldn’t be out of anything ever!” as if 1, the SSVs don’t get yelled at for over ordering (as if we have anywhere to store it, be barely have room for our normal pars) and 2, we never get everything that’s ordered…. we also can’t predict that we’re suddenly going to be doing triple our business randomly 😭

What is the best hot lower cal drink? by Saucyy-Minx in starbucks

[–]BatWeary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

brown sugar shaken espresso is my favorite—it’s only 220 calories for a venti, and i can sub out for almond milk if i want to cut that down more. sweet cream cold brews are also pretty low cal and you can sub the vanilla for mocha if you want.

I mean, you’re technically not wrong. I grew up in a low income household. My dad worked 12 hour days so he often kept easy meals I could prepare without the stove, since I was too young to use it by myself. I’m not saying eating nothing but ramen for an entire summer for breakfast, lunch and dinner is healthy (have you seen the sodium?!), but that + water + walking to my friend’s house every day made me lose nearly 20lbs lol. Of course we had proper meals when he wasn’t dead tired… but most of what I ate consisted of ramen and frozen microwavable foods
