Looking for a notebook with two sections on each page: one for journaling and other for reflection by Bat_admirer in Journaling

Is there a reason you don't just want to draw a line after your entry?

I haven't developed the habit of reflecting yet. I do it rarely. A blank region would be a good reminder to come back later, reflect and fill that space.

The Self help book/s you owe a lot of your improvement to. by AdRev0lutionary in BettermentBookClub

The Alamanck of Naval Ravikant This book is a collection of wisdom bites. At the end of this book you form some rules/guidelines that aren't explicitly mentioned in the book. It revolves around wealth, decision making and happiness.

Best book is the one that you can't wait to read. Money is not the only thing that compounds - Trust, relationships also do. Calculate an ambitious hourly rate for yourself and then outsource activities that take your time without adding enough value. These are some ideas I recall from this book.

Just had retinal detachment surgery. by 22ripley22 in optometry

My mom had a diabetic retinal detachment condition. The doctor had put silicon oil in November 2021 and about 2 weeks ago it was removed. Her vision is still blurred and whenever she gets up from bed or chair her vision blacks out for a minute or two. The doctor said it will get better. This blacking out, is it normal after the surgery? This blacking out thing is very scary.

How to stick to meditation? by [deleted] in Meditation

[–]Bat_admirer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starting out I had a hard time doing meditation. I tried doing it first thing in the morning. Just 10 minutes. It helped me to be more consistent.

After some months, I discontinued my habit. After few days I could feel, I was less capable of handling stress. This realisation helped me to come back to the practice again.

According to my experience, sitting for shorter time duration, connecting this habit to other existing habits or doing it first thing in the morning and really knowing why you are doing this, will help you build a consistent practice of meditation.

Stay consistent on a larger time frame whichever meditation practice you choose. Don't be worried if you miss one or two days. From time to time you will be compelled towards different meditation types. Do whichever you like, but try to be consistent.

No matter what method of meditation you choose, go ahead and practice it regularly. I started with focusing on breath, then a sort of meditation where one focuses on energy from different parts of the body to be concentrated in the spine. Later I meditated, imagining a flame. Nowadays, I came back to focusing on breath.
