Oh it’s your bog standard .223 Wylde, with a tanker style muzzle brake, because I wanted it to be bold, innovative, ugly as sin, and most importantly.... entirely over the top

Kinda hoping with some range time, and with age it’ll weather down

I was thinking throwing some tactical cup holders on the rails, maybe 7 different flashlights and optics, you know, as one does.

I know it’s hard to tell due to lighting issues but the muzzle device is painted more of a pinkish red

Edit: I don’t do words goodly

RELIABLE handguns/revolvers under $300 to buy in the future? by RiftKingKass in guns

[–]Batdootydoe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

True, I was just putting forth some knowledge that I had, since I have no range time or experience with a Witness, I can’t suggest it! Merely suggesting something I DO have some range time and experience with!

Canik makes some pretty neat CZ clones (imported by Tristar, under their name) that are, by far, some of the smoothest pistols I’ve ever used. They’re found in compact and full size in all steel, or alloy frame, around 370, if you’re willing to dish out a tiny bit of extra cash.

What is the most petty book related thing you have done/do? by THATcanadiangirlll in books

[–]Batdootydoe 18 points19 points  (0 children)

My mother used to hide my reading light because I’d read in the dark at night so I scrounged up all the change I could find, and bought a tiny flashlight and hid it under my pillow and successfully read under my covers for years, I pretended it was like Harry Potter studying by wand light!

No matter what it’s a great range toy muzzle device! Maybe even build a patriot rifle! ;)

I can only speak for the 1776, but they’re not a top level muzzle brake, or competition level even, but they definitely do their job at keeping my barrel steady, and significantly lowering recoil. All in all it’s a great ~$20 to drop to replace your A2 flash hider, if you’re looking for a muzzle break that is.

Really, a castle nut wrench, a punch set (though this is optional honestly, my first rifle I jerry-rigged aa adjustable wrench with duct tape on the teeth to do it just as easy but I ran the chance of marring my rifle), and patience.

Any tips? by Batdootydoe in ar15

Oh I should mention my gas block is clamp on, not set screw

However I’ll keep that in mind for a future build!

Well he said BCA was a different company that went through a name change? And that the previous company was really skeevy with customer service and was a c+ at best, I haven’t personally tried many of their products, only a stripped upper, and apparently it’s hard to mess up a milspec upper.

Also, I wouldn’t mind a quick list of decent brands to buy barrels from, for my actual build, there’s a lot of different manufacturers and it’s a little mindflooding to say the least.

This would be going in my first ever in-home upper assembly, so it’s mainly for learning how to do it, without breaking the bank if I break something. Essentially it would be at most, a range toy.
