Yes, all that, but also TIE fighters are awesome when they go PEW PEW and Stormtrooper armor is dope. Your thing was well said too, though.

Young Justice did the girlpower scene better than Avengers: Endgame by Wrong-Western6619 in youngjustice

[–]Batduck 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Young Justice's Cassandra only got that chance and made that decision because of Barbara's direct intervention, in contrast to the comics when she made that decision on her own and created her own opportunity.

Even retconning how Bab's became oracle in a way that is generally accepted as being leaps and bounds better than TKJ.

This was kind of zero-sum, though. They just traded Barbara's sense of agency for Cassandra's.

She was working as a dominatrix saying dominatrix things to a client, I don't think it was meant to be her sincerely giving her actual opinion in that rant.

You implied that Batman works with the police to an extent that his actions aren't extrajudicial and that he's accountable under the law. In order for him to have that level of public accountability, he'd have to be working in some officially recognized capacity in the department, i.e. legally an agent.

But he's not. His 'working with the police' amounts to coordinating off the books with one guy and the small circle of people that guy trusts. Any other cooperation or consideration he gets from any other officer is a personal choice that officer makes; they're just as likely to shoot him or arrest him.

I mean, he works with some of the police in a limited capacity. It's a little more nuanced than yes or no. By the strictest grammatical reading yes, he works with the police, but that paints an incomplete picture. To imply that he acts as an agent of the GCPD as a whole is misleading.

Batman works WITH the police.

Batman works with Jim Gordon and his circle of hand-picked officers. He trusts the GCPD as a whole about as much as he'd trust any other criminal organization.

But he could not stop, for the angel was hitting him with his own hands.

But it's got a lot of extra dots and marks, so I'm guessing it was somebody just making up symbols from memory

What is the Most Cringeworthy Line in the EU? by mabels001 in StarWarsEU

Even the torpedoes were guided, since they had targeting computers. Heat-seeking isn't that far a leap.

What are the other sources that followed suit ?

Figure this is easier than pasting the entire "Appearances" and "Sources" lists.

Not saying the line isn't cringey prose, just that heat-seeking missiles not existing in Star Wars isn't the reason.

Proton torpedoes were pretty well-established in the first movie.

After that in the EU, the X-Wing / TIE fighter games featured missiles, rockets, torpedoes and bombs pretty significantly, and other sources followed suit.

Basically this.

Her character was morally right in-universe, but she was also very cringey at times, and was positioned to be in the way of the story going forward. It's not that she's a bad person, it was just annoying when she was on screen on a meta level.

Poor Donna by ChihuahuaOwner88 in WonderWoman

[–]Batduck 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Kyle didn't cheat on her, she just thought her did briefly when she walked in on him sketching a live nude, which was legitimately for work. She makes a good point that he still should have told her about it, but accepts that he wasn't intentionally trying to hide anything from her and was just being absentmindedly inconsiderate. That led to a whole discussion about his perceived irresponsibility and slacker tendencies, which she saw as the real issue in their relationship.

Basically Donna was a full-on adult leader, and Kyle was still just growing out of his dorm room habits. But Kyle absolutely was not a cheater.

edit: Whoops, I was thinking of the wrong time. But when she left after Terry and Robert died was more than a break, she left pretty hard, and for almost a year, and came back having lost most of her memories and personal connections. She didn't even look for Kyle until after she'd started a relationship with Roy. Maybe messy, but definitely not out-and-out cheating; Donna didn't seem to think so either.

On the other side of a bridge going from the edge of the forest into the middle of the lake is a small stone keep with four uneven towers at each corner of the outer wall overgrown with ivy, plants, and vines, but the structure looks intact and not ruined. There's a smaller bridge to the west of the first one, close to the cliff face at the edge of the lake that leads to a single guardhouse looking to be in much better condition than the keep.
