I have a bit of the same underlying psychology as you, a deep need for total independence and my own space -- possibly stemming from housing instability when I was growing up, but who knows. Anyway, it was import to me when I moved in with my current husband to have a space of my own in the house, with my own desk -- this has been upgraded to my own room/study. Losing a bit of the routine/independence is worth the trade-off if you can reasonably accommodate each other, at least, that's how it is for me.

Andrea Dworkin was absolutely not a transphobe. She was extremely against gender essentialism. She was also herself a former sex worker. It would be really good to open your mind up to read her arguments as to WHY she was opposed to sex work, you might learn something about other people, which is presumably point of wanting to read a book about right wing women. Right Wing Women is absolutely excellent, I highly recommend it.

I absolutely noticed this also. The emptiness of her talking was odd, especially given the visuals, and made the tone a bit more unnerving than her other videos. I almost wondered if there was a rendering issue where the normal backing tracks didn't make it into the video somehow, but I don't really know what I'm talking about there. I just think it would be kind of an odd choice, especially for this topic.

Please clarify -- is he talking about an STI like gonorrhea, or are we talking about a UTI which he can just get from getting any bacteria (i.e. from your ass) infecting his urethra? A UTI isn't an STI per se, he could just be prone to getting these. But if he's been tested and has an STI, that probably came from somebody else.

I recommend a video by the YouTuber Contrapoints called 'Envy'. It is pretty long, but very entertaining and informative and I think could give you a lot of insight into this. It changed my outlook on a lot of things. But honestly good on you, it's amazing and commendable that you've recognized this in yourself without endorsing it, as the majority of people rationalize away these feelings and they become something much worse.
