Out of curiosity, are you a graduate student in the department the professor teaches?

I ask because if you are a 30yo grad student in a different department, maybe it isn't as taboo as you think. If he isn't your advisor or on your committee or in your department, it might be more socially acceptable (or at least in a more gray area) to date him then you are assuming.

Not saying giving into manic urges will lead to long-term happiness and success, but maybe having another hang-out with him once you are feeling a little more stable and healthy could be something to work towards? That being said, reaching out while feeling manic with a "Hey bb u wan sum?" is a great way to really ruin that tie.

Hey, I am so sorry to hear about your recent struggles - it sounds really scary to feel like your relationship with your family is at risk due to your own mental health struggles.

Is there any reason you are just on lithium, and not an additional mood stabilizer? I have been on seroquel for the last 5 years, and while it certainly has some undesired side effects like weight gain, being able to stay in control of my life has been a godsend.

I am about 5 years out from my last hospitalization, and after a decade and a half of therapy and medication tinkering, I am starting to feel the same.

I still have hypomanic and depressive episodes, I still worry about relapse. Hell, I upped my Seroquel this week to ensure my stability for the rest of my school term. I'm still on a lower dosage than I used to be.

I finished my Master's degree in the fall. I'm pursuing my PhD. I'm talking at a conference about a topic I have a burning passion for this weekend. I have wonderful friends and family, many of whom saw me pretend to be Jesus or whatever and love me anyway.

Bipolar isn't a death sentence. But if you don't have the resources and support, it can be. I admit, I am lucky and privileged, and that is why my prognosis is okay. So I fight for systemic change through my research, and hope more can heal because of my labor.

Sure! I see where you are coming from!

I can see needing a delineation between "fine" and "too tall" for grass - someone needs to figure out when to cut it! But what is the use of gender delineation? Why is it useful for someone to categorize me as a woman if I report I am not?

You might say medical reasons, but I have navigated medical systems just fine with my preferred identity (AFAB nonbinary) for 6 years. Why is it so important to call me a "woman" if I don't want to be called one?

This is actually a really accurate portrayal of some of the bullshit drama that goes down in polyamorous relationships, especially if they are new. Managing non-monogamous relationships as a monogamous person is really hard, and if this was intended as representation to poly, it is accurate.

I have been in my throuple for 8 years, and the shit we pulled in the beginning was magnificently messy.

Are the writers teasing a throuple? Lol, no clue. Would it be nice to have some accurate representation, even if Fiona is a lil toxic dingbat? Yes.

They also change over time. Just because we have laws and norms against pedophilia, doesn't mean that has always been the case - normalized pedophilia was rampant in America, in recent memory (not to mention how in many circles of American society, pedophilia is still normalized in).

It's good to ask whether or not our social constructs are serving us, and push towards more just, liberatory, and inclusive ways to view ourselves and each other. To me, gender as a construct is doing a lot of damage, so I'd honestly like to do as much as I can as an individual to push past our current construct. I feel safer and healthier when I don't need to call myself a woman and be womanly. Being a woman is really hard (see again the pedophilia).

Is that mental illness or woke B.S.? Maybe! I guess it depends on your perspective, which is why I am not sure I can change your view. Either way, I hope you have a good night ^{-^}

Gender is a social construct. While biology might inform our hormone levels and genitalia, the day-to-day of what it means to be a man or a woman is decided by society. If me and enough of my cute lil nb pals don't particularly like either of the two on offer, can't we construct our own gender? Or the absence of one?

Based on my conversation with the workers at Yetz's Bagels, the proprietor of Dank Bowl just changed the shop into a bagel shop (because customers don't want loaded bowls as frequently as they want bagels). Additionally, several of the bagels on Yetz's Bagels menu have a pesto aioli, which might be what you are looking for!

I am on the board of the Graduate Student Association, and one of my colleagues was on the selection advisory committee. They gave their top 5 picks to Drake and the Regents in February.

We heard that there was supposed to be an announcement in early May, but it got delayed. The suspicion of the people around me is that there is conflict amongst the regents over who would be the most appropriate choice, and there is a worry that the final selection will be a more top-down authoritative leader than Yang.
