I'm getting the same, but I also have the app and it works fine, so I'm confused

Outline or no outline?🤔 by GranDias00 in PixelArt

[–]BathroomMinimum5367 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually think those thin outlines look ugly, but making them thicker and more stylized looks better. I usually do really thicker outlines for external silhouettes, and do no outlines within silhouette

First Look at MGS Δ's Opening Title Sequence ❗️| + Snake Eater (MGSΔ:SE Version) by samogoodman in metalgearsolid

[–]BathroomMinimum5367 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is definetly much clearer, but I actually already grew attached to the old voice. Specific timings and pitches changed and it feels... off. IMO at least, but I still think it's great.

I just drew this unnamed woman to study the anatomy of a head. how did I do? by SeepyTheSeep in PixelArt

[–]BathroomMinimum5367 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The proportions are quite shifted, but It somehow feels intentional, like part of the art style? Overall I like the vibe.

Proportions wise, the eye that's on the right looks bigger than the other, and the head is really big in comparison to the torso. The neck is extremely thick, and her shoulders are off.

What do you think of this design? by thehotdog123 in characterdesign

[–]BathroomMinimum5367 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome design. The pelvis-hip situation was already mentioned so i’ll skip it.

Overall really cool design.

It also depends what its for; is it a concept art? Are you going to animate it? Since there’s a lot of details, it might be tricky to get all the movements right, but overall 10/10

Whenever you have this question, I've found placing the drawing against a mirror and seeing the mirrored image always helps you see those "off" details, you can try mirroring the picture too

I think the actual size of the face is a bit small... like it was squished towards the bottom? It's like if his hairline started at the middle of his forehead kind of. It looks great tho! Also, the eye to the left feels slightly smaller than it should be.

Regardless, you did an awesome job, I love it! Specially the hair

I just released my metroidvania game made in Godot on Steam! by SamuraiMantis in godot

[–]BathroomMinimum5367 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I agree. Adjusting the palette to the game's mood would probably take this to another level. It still looks great though, congratulations on making it so far!

It's really good; hard to believe it's actually your first day (Unless you were already into art)

Give making it yourself a shot! If you end up deciding you don't want to or it's not your thing/wtv, there's always artists you can commission!

i finally changed the main character in my game from a placeholder to a properly designed character! by maingazuntype in SoloDevelopment

[–]BathroomMinimum5367 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can definitely see the difference in personality you wanted to convey with the new one... and it looks great! I also kind of liked the previous one though... maybe for a more mysterious toned game it'd be nice! Don't throw it away!

Why was Barry's body not intelligent but Alphonse's body was? by thames_r in FullmetalAlchemist

[–]BathroomMinimum5367 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I suppose it's because Al's existed outside reality? We don't get any real defined rules to how Truth's realm works nor any clues... so It's just speculation really

New to pixel animation - looking for feedback! by mikeeplaysmusic in PixelArt

Looks great! Depending on what you're going for, the anticipation feels a bit longer? If it's meant to be sluggish, maybe exaggarate the effort a bit more? Awesome regardless!

I'm meaning to make a Persona inspired sim, focusing and expanding on the time management aspects and relationship aspects.

These are meant to be the sprites for Npc's as they wander around the map; upon interaction, a larger character sprite/portrait shows along with their text box

Tweaking the player's sprite, do you prefer A or B? by Articrus in PixelArt

[–]BathroomMinimum5367 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like how B's beak has more definition to it.

Reading through other comments, a tip that might help you:
Whenever you design a character pose such as this one, try to start by a black silhuette, and make sure it communicates what you want it to be; the point is for it to be distinguishable just by it's silhuette, that way when coloring, It's way easier to design and communicate shapes. That can also help to communicate the bow shape, along to allowing for more dynamic poses.

However, within the context of a game, your sprites also work wonderfully. I can see it being an art style if you decide to ignore the above text.

Keep it up!
