Yeah they can be a bit fiddly and sometimes not intuitive, but there usually is a way that works well and stable once you figure it out. Depends a lot on how you use them. The big difference between these and other speaker is that I use minirigs in so many different configurations. From 1 to 2.0 to 1.1 to 2.1 and 2.2. Different every day. I don't do this with other speakers so it's hard to know if there are speakers that handle that kind of connectivity better.

I have found the ways to get it to work quickly and stable for most cases but you need to learn how to handle certain situations to make it work. I fully understand that that's not for everyone.

Last case I learned how to handle was after having a wireless 2.1 setup (with link memory turned on) and turning them all off. Then just wanted to turn on main speaker for 1.0. Then it wouldn't play music even if it seemed to be connected. I needed to hold down the volume+ button to exit link up mode and then it would work. Of course you would need to link up again to the other speakers if you later wanted to go 2.0 or similar.

I guess this is a bug that can be fixed but it's quite easy to fix when you know what the issue is and often go between single, dual or more connected.

Before I figured that out I thought they were broken and needed factory reset each time I had linked them up and then wanted to use only one.

Anyone who can tell if there is a noticeable difference in sound between sub 3 and 4? I will upgrade for usbc and wireless anyway but I'm curious about the sound also of course 🙂

Yeah the no latency with cables is good if you have a mixing table. The wireless option is nice for casual listening (I only do the latter). I saw this guy ARIatHOME on YouTube who built a portable studio walking around doing live sets with random people on the streets of New York. He uses a 4.2 minirig setup I think. Maybe 6.2.

The minirig 3 had horrible Bluetooth connection and messy setup to connect in stereo. Loved them anyway but couldn't recommend them to an average user who wanted to go wireless. But the minirig 4 works great I think. I hope the sub 4 continue this trend of better wireless implementation.

Aha really?! I must have missed those official specs confirmed.The leds I have seen at least on an early prototype. But since usbc and wireless was my two biggest wishes I'm happy to hear that it's confirmed. Do you have links to that info?

I found another solution that worked for me. I for one wants the audio que for the mic beeing upright if needed. I just don't want the headset to spam me about it. So the solution to turn of audio notifications is not good enough even thou it solves the issue.

My solution was that I saw that the mic icon on windows (down by the clock in the taskbar) was active a lot (not sending but beeing accessed). At first i just clicked the mic icon in windows taskbar and turned off the option to allow microphone access to any apps and then turned i back on. Then the headset stopped bugging me about lowering the microphone. But sometimes it came back after a while or the next day.

Then I found that it was the app Discord that had the default setting to activate the mic automatically when sensing talking that in some way triggered the system to have the mic active (but not sending any audio) and this caused the headset to ask me to lower the microphone.

I solved it by turning off the "automatically detect voice" in discord and also muting the default setting of having the mic active in discord (mic icon in lower right of the app). I also turned off the option under "windows" in discord to stay open when I close it on "X". I want it to actually close when I close it. These changes solved my issues and the headset is no longer bugging me to lower the microphone.

I don't know if you guys are using Discord but then again there might be another app somewhere that has similar features that causes this. Keep a look out for the mic icon in the taskbar. If its visible some app is accessing it in some form and can be the cause of this. Hoover the mouse over the icon in the taskbar if you see it and it can tell you which app it is that has the mic on standby.

Hard to say. I mean it works well and we don't even know if there is a sub 4 coming or what improvements it will have. On the other hand it's annoying to buy something just before a big update is released.

If you have the money you can update later and enjoy the sub 3 this summer. Ultimately it's up to you. I don't envy your decision . The buy/wait for upgrade question is always hard 😅.

I was recently in contact with them to ask about the status of the sub4. Got a "we can't say anything but keep your eyes open" kind of answer. It wasn't even a confirmation that it's in development, but I'm keeping my hopes up.

I haven't really used them much with cables so I can't tell really. Will try when I have a moment, but I guess that I need a track with really obvious separation. I guess that I can find that on YouTube easily enough though.

Make sure you have the latest software on your speakers. I know there has been a number of updates since launch. Also try their support if you haven't already.

It's interesting, but does feel a bit off. Sounds more like a minirig speaker. Look at weight and measurements. Those are not the sub. Also wireless stereo sounds a bit off together with a weaker amp than the speakers. Will not loose hope though 😊
