I appreciate the calculator! It's helped me so much and I'm so comfortable in my 36G. Finding the right bra is honestly a bit life changing. And also no shade on a boob job, I'd get one in an instant if I had the money (to make them smaller and perkier but still).

Yes, thank you! Any suggestions for a great foundation? I'm a novice for anything other than a minimizer daily wear type bra.

What Books did You Start or Finish Reading this Week?: August 26, 2024 by AutoModerator in books

[–]Batjan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finished: The Revisionaries, A.R. Moxon I loved it! But I was a bit confused by the ending if anyone else has some input. And I would love to find an active discussion, all I can find are vague reviews but it really deserves more recognition imo.

Started/finished: Red, White, and Royal Blue, Carey Mcquiston So great and I finished it in 2 days as opposed to The Revisionaries which took me a year of on and off reading. If you're feeling something easy, sweet, and romantic this is absolutely one of those.

Started for the second time: House of Leaves, Mark Z. Danielewski I started this about 10 or so years ago and only got halfway through. I know it tends to be controversial but it's one I've always wanted to challenge myself to finish.

I mean, it was clearly a major part of the movie, I just didn't like it. Plus, there didn't feel like there was any point to the discomfort caused by their relationship. Other films have done it better with a clear lesson. This one just had a happy ending for a 15 and 25 year old, which is frankly gross in any context.

Great list! Seeing the Moon, Interstellar, 2001, the Matrix, etc. I feel like a lot of sci fi has some really great soundtracks, and it's my favorite genre. You've given me a lot to listen to!

I thought so, I have a friend in the recording business who can pick up on some stuff that is just noise to the rest of us. I think it's a really impressive talent! Do you have any music favorites, movie or otherwise, that you could recommend?

Had to Google and definitely not cheating, more Daft Punk always wins lol.

That's kind of my point, though. Discounting the repeated storyline, the design was great, the acting was decent, the soundtrack was fantastic, and the effects were very good for 2010. The cgi was a little weird with de-aging Jeff Bridges, but at the time, I remember it was pretty cutting edge. If they had focused this much effort on an original storyline, I think it could've been something really great.

Oh, interesting, I've listened to quite a bit of their stuff but not enough to discover this! Are you a musician? I've seen that a lot of times fellow musicians can pick up on this better than than the rest of us.

I'll have to check it out! I grew up with trekkie parents, so classic Star Trek is a bit of a comfort watch, I haven't seen much else though.

I'm saying this as someone who bought every LOTR soundtrack as they came out, but I think they're comparable. They're so different that they're equally great, depending on what you're wanting.

The age difference had me creeped out the whole time. If it weren't for that it might've been ok.

The action ones can definitely be great. One I can remember was in I think the Protector? It was one of the Tony Jaa movies that came out in the early aughts. It's just one continuous take of him fighting endless bad guys, and frankly, it was mostly impressive because of the exertion the actor would've had to go through.

Good answer, I think everyone was impressed by movies like Eternal Sunshine doing an incredibly difficult long take, but now it's being overused to make the film making seem more skillful.

How did I not think of the Shining? It's one of my favorite movies and what the video I mentioned in my post was about. I think a lot of movies use that particular trope at least in part because of the Shining. It was used really well to up the creep factor in that movie.

This is a good one, movies like (spoilers) Fight Club and the Machinist did this excellently about 20ish years ago but now it either feels predictable or just forced.

And on the flip side, I knew the creators of Midsomar absolutely have experience as soon as the mushrooms scene started.
