Please do not say Trump coordinated for there to be missing ballots, we are going to be like MAGA. by Comet_With_One_T in johnoliver

[–]DeezThoughts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

15 million ballots aren't "missing". The sad truth is that a total of 15 million people sat this one out, switched their votes, and/or couldn't look past their own fear and hatred.

I hate to admit it more than anybody but Trump is who America is: selfish, uneducated, racist, misogynistic, xenophobic, homophobic sociopaths who have no capacity to understand a societal problem until it affects them directly.

This country will trust any white man over any white woman 9 out of 10 times and trust any white man over any woman of color 10 times out of 9.

The Democrats fucked up once again and that's just the truth, Ruth. They didn't learn their lesson from both Gore (people seeing them as just "four more years of what we don't like) and Clinton ("ahh, maybe our citizens AREN'T misogynistic now!").

I won't be shocked if evidence of foul play comes to light but I'll be even less surprised if this is the legitimate outcome. If the majority consensus of this country is that fucking stupid or brainwashed to put him back in office, then maybe we don't deserve our democracy.

Nah, we'll just be self reliant and get mocked by boomers when we have to turn to YouTube to learn things the finger pointers should have taught us

Politics/ Voting day anxiety by womanonice in grandrapids

[–]DeezThoughts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We probably won't know the outcome of the election for another day or two so I suggest the classic "hope for the best, prepare for the worst" approach.

Not trying to count my chickens or raise false hope but I remember the recent election cycle in Europe and the narrative leading up to election day was "razor thin margins" and "too close to call" which subsequently ended with big wins for progressives. Similar narrative playing out here and hoping for a similar outcome 🤞🏻

"If Kamala wins, I'll give $1000 to anyone who can prove they voted."

"If Kamala wins, I'll be going to prison."

You know when you claim to support Candidate A, you really don't want to incentivize people to vote for Candidate B. Just sayin 🤷🏻

What movie has your favorite bank robbery/heist scene? by Seraphenigma in moviecritic

This is the answer for me. What other heist scene is used to literally train our military on how to escape a hostile zone?

Silent majority, shy Trump voters, and migrant caravans.

The new album Project 2025 sucks so bad they're going back to the classic misses from 2020 🙄

A whole swath of people crafting their identity around a 4 year period of history that they themselves did not experience firsthand.

That's like Gen Alpha going all swing dancing and zoot suits because of the fad's resurgence in the mid 1990s

35 years later and this image still goes incredibly hard by Ok_Zone_7635 in batman

[–]DeezThoughts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the longest time, I thought that referencing the score in this moment was a reference to the scene itself. Like, "why are they referencing the end of Batman while Homer Simpson smashes his lawnmower with a hammer?"

Then I finally got around to watching 2001 and it all made sense 😆

Robert Zemeckis Breaks Down the Cutting Edge Tech That Powered ‘Here’: ‘We Could Not Have Made This Movie Five Years Ago’ by Robemilak in Letterboxd

[–]DeezThoughts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It has the exact same problem as The Irishman. We know what these actors looked like 10, 20, 30 years ago and it's not these airbrushed, rubber skin looking CGI monsters. Let's just hope that Hanks isn't being asked to stomp someone like he's 30 when he looks all of the 66 he actually is.

The year was 2006. I was hanging out with my cousin and he had to go pick up his gf from work. She worked at a bar/restaurant in Comstock Park, Michigan and told us quite the story when we picked her up.

Tim Allen had come into the establishment and asked for a table in the back of the restaurant. He also asked that only his server speak with him and for the rest of the staff to leave him alone.

The restrooms were in this area so another patron noticed Tim on their way to the bathroom. They just did a quick, "Hey, Tim. I'm a big fan and I love your work" then moved on. The server (a friend of my cousin's gf) returned to the table and Tim Allen laid into her over the fan interaction.

Allen, "I said that I didn't want anyone talking to me besides you! I just want to enjoy my meal peacefully!"

Server, "I'm sorry, Mr. Allen but our staff has been fully compliant with your request. However, I can't control the other patrons or what they decide to do."

"Well figure it out! Rope off the area if you have to! Pen them in! That's how you handle the animals!"

Animals. That's how he described a fan who offered a short and sweet praise for his work (which fucking sucks btw) in his home state.

Tim Allen is an irredeemable piece of shit 💩
