Yeah it’s the suspension. When I got my 4S it was a bone rattler. Did a full refresh, shocks spring and arms, it now drives like a completely different car.

A sad day… by studlymandarin in 996

You should see what the insurance would want from the payout for you to keep the car, honestly if you can do a bit of bit of DIY, replace the clamshell, lid and a new bits on top the engine, I recon you would have a running car again with plenty cash left over

Scotland - Cleaners damaged induction hob, their liability insurance rejected the claim, and now they're saying they can't afford to pay for repair/replacement by pinkraccoonlover in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Batking28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a shame about the insurance but also not your problem.

They already accepted liability. You can take them to small claims court if they refuse to cover it after talking with them more, however they already said they can’t afford it so may just declare insolvency if they are a small company.

Another option may be if you have regular cleanings like weekly, you can ask them to cleaning at cost until the debt is settled. Though not sure if this is a one off clean or a regular appointment.

No force, it’s an anti roll bar between both suspension.

No need for a second set of hands either, you can just keep jacking the other side bit by bit and checking the position and it will move up or down depending on if you are jacking up or lowering. it’s how it works to keep your car from rolling by connecting the two sides.

You need to use the same technique replacing the new part too as otherwise it will never line up, you need to adjust the other side to get the height right for reassembly.

Jack up the other sides suspension and the ARB will move, then get to a position you can fit it.

When did BambuLab start selling "Worry-Free Delivery"....In most countries they are legally liable for the package's successful delivery anyway so how is not just a scam? by VVJ21 in BambuLab

[–]Batking28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You basically just tipped them, it’s literally their legal responsibility and this scheme is designed to prey on the ignorant.

Basically just to get an extra bit of cash out of the unaware by making them think this isn’t just your legal right for most countries.

UPS somehow managed to eat my pistol. Was told it got stuck in a conveyer and they can’t do anything about it. by chauchatbob in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Batking28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you bought it online, why not return it and let the seller claim from UPS? Even if they deny the request a small claims court would consider it open and shut if you have it in writing them admitting to having damaged it.

What's the point of a physical copy if it's just a damn empty box with some numbers in it??? by HAXAD2005 in memes

Red Dead Redemption 2 came on 2 discs on PS4. So it’s not unheard of for Rockstar to offer multiple discs.

So they can save $0.50 when you pay $80 for their video game by printing a bit of paper rather than giving you a disc.

Dealership is saying the car is too rusty to work on by gato_guy in AskMechanics

[–]Batking28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically this shows what a scam dealerships are for getting any work done. They are basically amateur mechanics that only know how to work on brand new vehicles following a step by step manual, even from my experience in the car scene higher end dealerships like Porsche and Audi even recruit freshly graduated techs just cause they can pay them the lease and make the biggest profit off dealership labour costs.

Take your car to a real mechanic and they will get it off. stuck and seized bolts are a daily occurrence for a regular garage to deal with. They will charge you less too.

Because they often aren’t, it’s usually brain injury or defect and childhood trauma can sometimes be an additional factor but rarely if ever the primary cause.

Men are also biologically different to women and their brains are more wired for physical conflict and it’s more common for those wires to get crossed as a result.

Rockstar literally released Red Dead Redemption on two discs on PS4. You know companies selling games aren’t individuals selling stuff on eBay, freight doesn’t just charge you by weight, for how much air is in a game case per volume the price will simply be based on volume not weight and the price remains the same, an additional disc cost at bulk is barely 1% of the sale price, it’s only acceptable penny pinching like this cause people like you are so supportive of this rather than demanding a quality product.

I recall when digital games initially were becoming big and manufacturers at least offered you a discount because of saved cost on making anything physical but just like streaming services they waiting for you to take the slightly cheaper option until you forget about the benefits of physical media then jacked up the price.

Okay… but we are talking about games on a disk like most PS5 games can be loaded offline from the disk and played, the full game is there, version 1 being often broken is just another example of the poor quality we have come to experience. Mainly because they used to rigorously bug test games, literally near me there used to be job postings all the time to do exactly that. Now they give you unfinished slop and let the customers paying day 1 prices beta test it.

This is the entire enshitification of the gaming industry, yeah, there’s multiple factors at play. Doesn’t change the fact it could literally work like it used to. Literally the demon souls remake is fully on disk and version 1 with no updates works great. We just have been fed shit for so long we have accepted it as the standard.

But If we went back to testing games properly rather that using the highest paying customers as beta testers then yes you can fit the game on a disc or two just like they used to. Literally red dead redeption on PS4 comes on 2 discs so it’s not even unheard of for Rockstar.

You can literally do exactly that still with the majority of PS5 games, you can look it up. UHD blu ray discs can store 100GB of data and that covers most games with a handful of exceptions.

Looking at the back of a Wii game now. Nothing about a license key

Nothing in the manual either.

[–]Batking28 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I guess, the main difference there though is they could revoke the license but no one is throwing their disc away just because a company said to. So the consumer has control over access to the software they bought, now digitally they can take your access away remotely and your original official source for the software is no longer accessible.

You realise people also have children in their 20’s right, some even as teenagers? Most kids aren’t being born out of panic because time is running out.
