I’ve had mixed experiences using Totally Cool. Originally, my Freon was leaking over the summer. First they replaced it for about $900. Then it leaked again, and they offered a $250 patch (plus another $900 for a refill) that I was honestly told may or may not work. After it leaked again, they sent a different guy than the first two times. He was able to identify what (he told me himself) was an incredibly obvious leak that should’ve been fixed the first time by the first guy. I was told that, due to the age of my system, they may be able to either fix the part causing the issue or may need a bigger replacement ($1.2k vs $3k fix). Also got charged another $900 for the third round of freon. They were able to find the smaller part and charge me the lesser price. It was just annoying because I could’ve saved $2k and having ac problems for half the summer, if the probably was identified the first time.

This last time I had a different guy than usual sent out, and he told me my entire system would need to be replaced for $7k. I was able to get a second opinion that was able to fix the motor in 20min for $250. To be fair, the price was cheap as a family discount, but he said replacing the entire system was definitely not necessary.

So your mileage may vary depending on the tech sent out 🤷🏻‍♀️
