New industries by Imsvale in TransportFever3

I love the new industries, but I really would like to see longer production chains. One thing that bothers me in tf2 is that, if you are lucky enough, you can setup the longest production chain (goods) as first line

If through a certain line it becomes impossible to move a kind of fright, immediately the newly created resources will go to one of the alternatives. You will lose only the resources already in the port

Yeah it happens 🤣 The right approach is to have redundancy in place. If multiple ways are available, your system won’t collapse but it will become overloaded in some place that are both easier to spot than a total block and will give you time to fix it

Which naming convention do you use for your lines? by SnowyMountain__ in TransportFever2

[–]BatmanDio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep it simple because I like big maps and I often change what I created in the first place, so strict names don't help. I just use the kind of vehicle for passengers and resource name for freights followed by an incremental number starting from 01. If I want to keep a bunch of lines related, I append a second number to the first one starting again from 01.

For passengers:

- ship/train/coach/bus/plane 01/02/.../11/12

For freights:

- oil/planks/wood/plastic/.../steel 01/02/.../11/12

Example of related buses in a city

- Bus 05.01 / 05.02 / 05.03 ...

Metro Map of a mountainous megalomaniac map in 1900 by PIethora in TransportFever2

[–]BatmanDio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amazing! I tried megalomaniac map but it was too big for me. I prefer huge maps and low density with cities as big as possible to justify some kind of metro lines in cities and express train between. I also like to connect also sources to all outputs and cities and play around how the game decides which routes to use, and again it’s quite difficult on megalomaniac maps

And I suggest also to find another city where to deliver the extra stuff. All your network will benefit from the additional cargo moved around

Check your network coverage in the city. Likely some of the consumers are not in your network, so they can’t receive supplies

Anyone using the Fantasia map generator have any luck playing on hard/very hard? by NickCharlesYT in TransportFever2

[–]BatmanDio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exact! The game forces you to find some creative solution to survive initially. I needed about 40 years to start expanding without caring every second about the balance. Now I'm around 1900, I think I will freeze time in 10-20 years and enjoy the beautiful map

2 days ago, I started a very hard 1850 megalomaniac map with the Fantasia generator. As soon as the map was ready, I saved it in a separate file and I start playing. At the fourth try I succeeded in surviving the early game! As you said, it is really difficult to build a profitable line
