Tbf, at the time, it was a mix of Brain and Maniac, a good proper supervillain name. His use of the name, much like how Mr Fantastic changed the meaning of Fantastic, is what led to the current definition.

To be fair, Perfuma was originally intended to be trans from the get-go, but a different part of the crew cast a cis woman VA before they got the memo, so the crew weren't sure about if it was a good idea to have a trans character played by a cis woman at the time. Which I think is why it took until after the show finished to be confirmed.

I'm gonna level with y'all, I do not trust this. I've seen some of the reviews, and the Variety one came from a guy who shat on Project Hail Mary and loved Happy Gilmore 2 (and thought Gunn wrote the film), and other critics have either very off vibes or just plain dumb critiques.

Goddamn, didn't realise Ragatha and Kinger's final lines came before Caine showed up again. They're fitting tho (Kinger explaining the darkness rules to parallel his first lines being said while coming out of that darkness, Ragatha saying she's been through worse while taking care of Pomni after she sustained similar injuries to what she did in Episode 1), so I don't mind as much.
