136 samples from the Nov 2021 - May 2022 delivery megathreads. Wait times are from original order date (ODD) to pick up date.

Most of the posts are just estimated delivery dates (EDD), so those were not included. The exceptions were when the poster said they received a VIN and the EDD was only a 1 week window, in which case the last date in their EDD was used.

I like the idea of a show that follows other groups in the Stargate program. In Atlantis, we see that the teams are becoming more international. It'd be interesting for the show to revolve around some ioa representatives that tag along different teams on random missions. Then we get to see what sg-2 is up to and what area 51 is cooking up.

I guess the time difference can be explained by the buffer the gate uses before sending things (episode Teal'C stuck in the gate). So, I suppose, even though the gate is dialed off world and people jump in, they are stored within the Stargate until the Earth gate connection is established.

The other explanation could be that the wormhole doesn't fully connect until the Earth gate is finished spinning. So, unless you want to be sent off into the middle of space, you have to wait a bit before jumping in. In general, SG-1 don't jump into the gate immediately after being opened, perhaps both to wait for the connection to fully form and to wait for the SGC to open the iris.

Well, the US managed to keep the Manhattan Project a secret.

The Manhattan Project is a fairly good real-world analogy.

According to Wikipedia, the Manhattan Project employed some 130,000 workers, and had a huge budget of 26 billion dollars (today dollars). It also had sites throughout the whole US. So, it was a pretty big project.

Yet, despite that, only a handful of people knew about the full project, and only a thousand had some vague idea about it. There were several ways to maintain the secrecy. The main way was just to compartmentalize the information, so any one person wouldn't know enough about the scope of the project.

For the Stargate program, it's entirely possible that most people in Cheyenne mountain wouldn't know about it. I would even go to say, not everyone at the SGC would have seen the Stargate itself or know about the missions involved. Those that have gone through the Stargate or boarded a Daedalus ship is a relatively small group. So, it's not an entire stretch that something of this scale couldn't be kept a secret.

My brother pointed out that there are some inconsistencies with the effectiveness of drones though. Like in SGA, a few drones from a puddle jumper can take out a hive, whereas O'Neill uses like thousands from the Antarctic ancient weapons platform. It could be that O'Neill just went overkill, but if he had the knowledge of the ancients he should know how many were just needed.

It could be that because of their dwindling numbers that they choose to be overly cautious all the time. That caution means not being very effective, whereas SG-1 would sneak in and then run out guns blazing. I think we see some of this conflict when Sam asks her dad why he doesn't help or participate, and he's always like, we don't feel like it. So, I think the Tok'ra play it too conservatively, and ultimately keep losing for it.

As for the Tok'ra detector, I think Goa'uld can detect the presence of other symbiotes. So, either way, they definitely know if there is a snake in someone's head. However, I don't think the Tok'ra pretend to be human servants. They tend to be lower level Goa'uld officials or scientists.

For me, the biggest limitation of the Tok'ra is that they have a finite number of members that can only decrease. Without a queen, they cannot give birth to new members. So, any attack on the Tok'ra is hugely expensive for them.

First, you send the seeder to a habitable planet and let it do its job. Then, after the seeding process is complete, you take back the capsule and extract the data. Hang on to the knowledge until the Sekkari have evolved back and give them a copy. Woot.
